I'm a huge Pokémon fan. I've been in love with the series ever since I was a little boy. I played pretty much any Pokémon game I could get my hands on. There wasn't a single Pokémon game that I didn't enjoy in some way. Just attaching Pokémon to something instantly made it more interesting to me.
One day as I was scrolling through different apps to download, I encountered a free Pokémon game I had never seen before. It was called "pokefind game". I read the description and it didn't say anything, but it was Pokémon so figured I'd give it a try. I knew that it wasn't an official Pokémon game but that didn't matter to me.
Once the game had downloaded which didn't take long at all, I instantly started it up. A title screen appeared with a pikachu with the little of the game. Below the pikachu it said "start". It didn't look to special, but I was still curious. It was Pokémon how could I not try it?
I pressed the start button, which made the pikachu disappear from the screen. The app then crashed. I tried opening the app up again several times, but it crashed every single time I tried. I eventually gave up and just deleted it. I figured it was just a crappy app.
I woke up the next day to find my phone on the ground with scratch marks on it. I picked it up and examined my phone. I had no idea how it got that way, which was really upsetting since I had just gotten that phone. I sighed and went off to work anyway.
The whole day my phone acted strange. It would randomly turn on and off and the screen would occasionally turn all yellow for a few seconds before going back to normal. At first, it was just a few strange glitches here and there but it evolved into more trouble as the day went on.
I was very upset that my phone wasn't working. I really didn't want to have to get a new one already. My day went by very slow and it felt so miserable. I didn't want to be too attached to my phone, but I also didn't want to waste my money.
Once I had finally arrived home, I was completely frustrated. I threw my phone onto the my bed and plopped myself beside it. I stared up at the ceiling for the moment, before reaching for my phone. The screen was completely yellow once again. My body went stiff as I felt a rush of electricity go through my arm. I threw my phone across the room before I looked down at my hand. There was a mark that covered my hand and went up my arm. My flesh felt burnt. I clutched my arm tight as I tried to figure out what had happened.
That app had obviously done something to my phone. It was acting just like the Pokémon pikachu, but this wasn't a good thing at all. This was dangerous. The shock nearly killed me and now I couldn't even use my phone. Who knew who could've taken over my phone. Now every night I'm haunted by the thought that someone could have all my information, and could even be watching me.
