Scared of shadows

  All children have fears of the unknown. They're afraid of monsters under their bed and aliens outside their window. We've all experienced these little childish fears. It's just natural.
  A young girl waited in bed for her mother to tuck her in. Once she walked in, the girl instantly asked her mother if there were any monsters under her bed. Her mother checked for her and clearly found nothing.
  "It's ok, honey. There's nothing under your bed," she reassured her with a smile.
  Her mother tucked her in and turned on the night light before leaving the room. The girl closed her eyes for a moment before she heard a light tapping sound. She lifted her head up and slowly looked around the room.
  "Mom!" She called.
  Her mother instantly came running into the room to see what was wrong. Her daughter had a scared look in her face as she lightly gripped onto her blanket.
  "What's wrong? Is everything ok?" Her mother asked.
  "I heard a scary noise and I saw my shadow move," 
  "Well, your shadow will move if you move," her mother explained.
  "No, mommy. I didn't move. It ran across the room,"
  "Don't worry honey, it was probably nothing. Just try to go to sleep, I promise you'll be okay," her mother then kissed her forehead and left the room.
  The girl tried to listen to her mother and shut her eyes again. All she wanted was to fall asleep. She turned over and began hearing more noises. They were louder then before. She was tempted to call for her mother, but she wanted to be a big girl.
  She shut her eyes once again and avoided looking at her shadow. There couldn't be anything to be scared of if her mother told her. She just had to be brave.
  She slowly drifted to sleep before feeling the blankets be torn off of her. She jumped up and yelled for her mom.
  Her mother came running in to see her shadow standing over her. She ran up and grabbed her daughter out of the bed.
  "Mommy! Look!" The girl yelled.
  Her mom turned around to see that the shadow had turned into gengar.
