If you want to complete your pokedex, you're going to have to do a lot of trading in order to do that. It's a normal thing that all Pokémon players do. Every Pokémon game has this feature. Unfortunately, this innocent little game became dangerous.
There is a strange thing that happens with a green ditto. Yes, green. Shiny ditto is usually blue, and as you know, regular ditto is pink. There was a rumor that there was s rare green ditto. There was only one, and there was no way of getting it in the games. This of course made Pokemon lovers very excited. Many people tried searching so they could trade with the one person who had this one of a kind Pokemon.
One day as a teenaged boy was playing Pokémon, he went into the gts and looked for Pokémon to trade. Most of the Pokémon was boring, and he was already really close to completing his pokedex.
As he was searching, he calf upon the green ditto. His eyes widened in surprise when he noticed that all the trainer wanted for the ditto was just a regular rattata. He instantly clicked on it and started trading just a random rattata in his pc. His eyes widened in shock once he saw that he had received the only green ditto in existence. He could barley believe his eyes and thought that it was just a dream. He was filled with a sense of pride with what a great Pokemon player he was, having such a rare Pokémon.
It was level 100, making it all the more better. He was excited to show all of his friends that he had actually gotten it. He saved his game and went to bed, his heart still pounding with excitement.
That night, he had a strange dream where he saw nothing but green. There wasn't even any sound. He woke up a few minutes after the dream to see that his 3ds was still turned on, even though he knew he turned it off. He turned on the light, and went over to grab it.
Once he opened the screen, he noticed the screen was all black with white text. It read, "You have obtained the green ditto. You are now under its control. Trade it within two days, or else you will pass away,"
He didn't believe it at first. He didn't understand. Why would a Pokémon game say something like this. He tried going back to bed, but the paranoia filled him with fear. He didn't want to look like he was scared, but it just creeped him out too much.
He got off the bed and grabbed the 3ds once again and went into the gts. He asked to get magikarp of any level. He then closed the 3ds and crawled back into bed, hoping that someone would take the offer. He fell asleep on and off that night. He couldn't be the only one that would think it was a good steal.
He woke up that morning feeling drowsy, but I instantly widened his eyes and headed straight for the 3ds, wasting no time to open it. He let out a huge sigh of relief once he saw that the Pokémon he had offered was taken. He of course felt bad that he put someone else in his position, but he had no choice. He was just happy that he was free. After a while, he even cleared it from his mind.
As the green ditto continued to be passed on, a strange amount of deaths had been showing up all over the place, mostly young kids who didn't know what was going on. No one knew the causes of the deaths. Because of this, the curse was able to continue on, cursing as many people as it could.
Several months later, the same teenage boy that was once cursed was babysitting his younger cousin. His cousin ran up to him excitedly, clutching his 3ds in his hands with a huge grin on his face. The teenage boy smiled and asked him what he was so excited about.
"Look! I got a super rare Pokémon!" He shouted excitedly as he shoved the 3ds towards his cousin's face. "I got it like two days ago! I've been so excited to show you!"
The teen instantly grabbed the 3ds out of his cousin's hands. The boy looked at him confused.
"We need to get rid of this right now!"
"But it's really rare! I thought you'd be impressed..." the boy whined.
"Trust me, this Pokémon sucks!" He said as he rolled his eyes, acting as if it was nothing. He obviously couldn't tell his little cousin the actual reason.
"Are you sure?" The boy asked, feeling a bit suspicious.
"I've been playing Pokémon before you were born! Trust me, this Pokémon is stupid," he said with a reassuring smile.
"Okay, thanks! You always have my back you're so cool!" The boy smiled.
The teen smiled with relief, and offered the Pokémon to trade.
"What Pokemon do you want?" He asked.
  "A mewtwo!" The boy shouted.
"Remember how I said this Pokémon sucks? No one will want to trade for that," he said in his most convincing tone.
"Oh yeah. Well, I need a psyduck,"
"That'll work fine," said the teen as he offered the Pokémon for trade. He felt so relieved, but he was hoping that he got rid of it in time. If someone didn't take the Pokémon by the end of the day, it could mean that his cousin could die.
Throughout the rest of the day, they played games together and continued to check if the Pokémon was traded. No luck. Every time he checked, he grew more and more paranoid. Nobody was taking the Pokémon, and the second day of having the ditto was nearly complete. He tried to keep a positive attitude for his cousin, but it was becoming too close for him to feel safe.
He took a deep breath. His cousin looked up at him.
"So I guess nobody's taken your ditto? I'll do you a favor, bud. I'll trade with you,"
  "Really?" He smiled happily.
"Sure. How'd you like a mewtwo for it? "
The boy's face brightened as he grinned from ear to ear. The teenager smiled at him and pulled out his 3ds. He tried to keep a smile on his face as he traded with his cousin. He knew that he was now in danger, but at least his cousin was safe.
Two days later, the boy was suppose to babysit his cousin son they checked on him at his house. Unfortunately, the boy could not trade in time.
