"Her soul..." Annabeth said. "What about it?" Elizabeth asked. "It's gone..." Annabeth replied.

"How?" Elizabeth asked. "How can it be gone!?" Elizabeth asked. "I don't know," Annabeth replied. "The boys!" Annabeth exclaimed. "They need our help!" Annabeth exclaimed. "Okay, I'll go help them," Elizabeth told her. "Take Addie and go back to the house," Elizabeth told Annabeth. "How!?" Annabeth asked. "I don't have super speed!" Annabeth exclaimed. "Just go take Addie home," Elizabeth told her. "Okay," Annabeth said. Annabeth picked up Addie bridal style. Elizabeth took off her gloves ad rushed towards the direction the boys and John were at. Annabeth took off running towards the house. She kept running and didn't stop until she got to the house. When she arrived she opened the front door nearly bumping into Miss Peregrine. "Miss Smith!" Miss Peregrine exclaimed. "There you are!" Miss Peregrine exclaimed. "You had me worried sick!" Miss Peregrine exclaimed. Miss Peregrine saw Addie in Annabeth's arms and Miss Peregrine gasped before covering her mouth.

"Where did you find her?" Miss Peregrine asked. "Your guy's old house! The one that got bombed," Annabeth replied. "That's far away from here, that's back in Cairnholm!" Miss Peregrine exclaimed. "Found a shortcut in the woods!" Annabeth exclaimed. "We can't have Mrs. O'Connor see her, it'll break her heart to see Addie like this," Miss Peregrine told Annabeth. "I can't find Annabeth or the others any-" Olive said walking into the room. Olive was cut off when she saw Addie. "Addie!" Olive exclaimed. "So much for that plan," Annabeth whispered to Miss Peregrine. Olive took Addie into her own arms. "Thank you so much for finding-" Olive began but she looked down at Addie more closely. "Wait! Why isn't she moving or even breathing!?" Olive asked. "I'm sorry," Annabeth told Olive. A tear rolled down Olive's cheek. "No no no no no no noooooooo!" Olive screamed as tears rolled down her cheeks. Enoch and Chloe came running into the room at the sound of Olive screaming.

"Olive! What's wro-" Enoch began but was cut off when he saw Addie in Olive's arms. Olive had sunk to the floor and tears were streaming down her face as she rocked Addie back and forth. "Addie!" Chloe exclaimed. She ran over to Addie with a smile on her face but that smile disappeared once she saw her little sister not moving or breathing. "Who did this to OUR Addie!?" Enoch asked his face stained with tears. "Some peculiar name John Wardley," Annabeth replied. "How could he do this!!!" Olive exclaimed sobbing uncontrollably. Chloe buried her head in Olive's shoulder and continued to cry. Enoch wrapped his arms around his wife and his daughter as they all mourned over Adeline O'Connor. Annabeth couldn't take it anymore. She took off running. "Miss Smith!" Miss Peregrine exclaimed. Annabeth ran through the woods and ran to the bombed house. Chloe began to sob uncontrollably. Enoch crouched down and saw Addie and more tears rolled down his cheeks. He thought about all the times he and Addie worked on their peculiarities together. How Addie's smile reminded him of the smile his wife always had.

How Addie was so sweet yet so innocent. Then he thought about how he would never see those things again and he too began to sob uncontrollably. His Addie was dead. His and Olive's Addie was dead. "You killed Addie!" Annabeth exclaimed as she appeared by Axel, Thomas, and Elizabeth's side. "Sweet innocent Addie," Annabeth said. "If I'm going to stay young, I have to suck the souls from the little peculiars," John Wardley chuckled. "Well you're going to be giving those souls back!" Thomas exclaimed. "Over my dead body!" John exclaimed. "Wish granted!" Elizabeth snapped. She hurled a huge piece of ice in John's direction and Axel hurled fireballs in John's direction and he managed to dodge them. He sucked the souls from little peculiars which granted him access to other peculiarities. John took off running using super speed. "He's like Charles," Axel told Thomas. "Yeah but he sucked the souls out of little peculiars so it must be his little sister," Thomas told him. "Who? Venus?" Elizabeth asked. "Yeah," Axel replied. "She's Chloe's friend," Annabeth said. "That's nice to know but John Wardley is getting away!" Thomas exclaimed. "Not for long," Elizabeth said.
