"Now that we don't have to worry about bruising me before my dance, can we please actually go all out today?"  I ask Yuri when I finally finish stretching.

"What does she mean by go all out?"  I hear Jason as Bucky as they stand to the side watching me.  Luke seemed to know exactly what I was asking and he knows the least about my past.

"Everything goes?"  Yuri asks and I nod.  "You sure kid?  After the past couple practices, I know you don't remember much of your training."  I thought about it for a few seconds as the guys all watch me.  I didn't want to appear weak but at the same time, I needed to get back to where I used to be and that could only happen if I got my ass handed to me.

"Winter taught me through pain so it probably won't come back until I need it again.  So yeah, let's do this."  I knew Jason wanted to intervene but Bucky put a hand on his shoulder holding him back.

Yuri didn't hesitate once he got the go ahead to beat me to a pulp.  This wasn't a traditional method of teaching but Winter did teach me to be a bad ass when I was his student.

Sometime during our match, I landed on my bad knee which sent a searing pain throughout my leg.  I didn't let that stop me from trying to take my teacher down but eventually he managed to flip me onto the mat.

I fight back for a few more minutes, only managing to make our position that much harder to maneuver in.  My training started to come back in flashbacks but nothing that would get me out of this besides Winter ending my life.

"I yield."  I tell Yuri as he puts more pressure on my injured knee. He moves so he's off of me but I don't move from the position he had me in.  Instead, I do a quick check of my body, looking for more injuries.

"Are you okay?"  Jason takes a step towards us but Yuri shakes his head.  I needed to get up on my own.

I manage to sit up but my knee screamed in protest at the slightest movement.  Bruises were already starting to color the skin on my knee making me wonder why this was my one injury that never seemed to heal like the rest of my body.

I carefully roll so I'm on the balls of my feet then force myself into a standing position.

"You need to get that knee checked out by a an orthopedic surgeon."  Yuri seemed concerned about my knee even though I knew this is what I was asking for when I wanted to hold nothing back.  I put weight on the injured leg wondering if I could manage to walk on my own without having anyone help me.

"She never takes it easy after injuring it.  That's why it hurts so much." Luke informs our teacher as he tries to put an arm around my waist and help me to the bench.

"I'm fine."  I inform my friend before limping over to the bench on my own.  I kept my facial expressions neutral knowing I wouldn't learn anything if people took it easy on me.

"Did you remember any of your training?"  Bucky asks as he sits next to me.  What he was really asking is did the pain of hurting my knee again bring back all the pain he caused me which in turn would bring back the training I would've used to combat the abuse he was inflicting on me.

"Enough but it was too late at that point."  Luke and Jason start their lessons while I nursed my knee.  "Can I bandage it and continue?"  I ask Yuri, not wanting to hear Bucky telling me to take it easy.

"No.  You're going to sit there and watch.  I'm not having you permanently damage your knee to the point you can't ever fight again.  You're worthless to me if you're injured."  I scowl but obey without saying another word.

Luke picked up the training quickly while Jason fumbled through each move as if he had just been taught it.  I felt bad for my friend but I knew Yuri would manage to find a way to turn my boyfriend into the fighter he wanted to be.

"Tony called...what did you do this time?" Nat asks as Bucky helps me inside.

"It's fine, and why do you always assume I did something?"  I ask as I take my spot on the sofa while Nat shakes her head.  "What were you saying about Tony calling?"

"The charity ball is this coming weekend, which means you're not going to use your knee for the next week.  Understand young lady?"  Nat watched as I nodded agreeing that I needed to be in top shape for the ball.

"Do I get a new dress for this occasion?"  I ask excitedly.

"Yes, but Tony is having someone make a dress specifically for you.   Which is why, we're flying back to New York tomorrow morning."

"We'll be spending Christmas at the compound, right?" It would be our first Christmas together and i was anxious to be with my entire family.

"We'll stay at the compound until just before school starts up again.  At that point, we'll be coming back here for you to finish the year.  After that, we'll see where we'll send you."

"Do you think people will try to find me?"  My stomach pitches dangerously as I start to stress about people trying to hurt our family because of who I was as a person.  Hydra will also hunt me down to end me once and for all.

"Tony is already working on that."  Bucky assures me as he appears with an ice pack.  "Dima is here for a reason too, Serenity."

"I don't want him to ever have to hurt someone to protect me."  My dog might get killed if he went against someone with a gun or more training than either of us.

"We'll cross that bridge if it ever comes our way."  Bucky kisses the top of my head before leaving me to talk to Nat.
