Scott POV

As Jason and I sit in the waiting room, we look up when we hear the sound of heels clicking against the hospital floor coming closer and closer until Lydia bursts into the room with Claudia by her side and holding her hand. Lydia looks worried and scared while poor Claudia looks like she has no idea what is going on. I guess Lydia didn't explain to her what happened, but that's understandable. I'm sure it would upset and horrify the young girl and we don't need that. From the expression on Claudia's face though, I think she realizes that something serious is happening.

"What's going on? Is he okay?" Lydia asks me desperately as she walks over to me. I take a moment to take in her appearance. She doesn't seem to have changed much since high school either. Maybe she's slightly taller and she's wearing jeans and a nice shirt now (she usually wore dresses and skirts all the way through high school), but that is pretty much it for as far as differences go. Her straight strawberry blonde hair flows around her as she walks towards me. "I don't know, I saw my mom wheel him off on a gurney somewhere, but that's about it. No one has come to tell me anything else." I reply, my voice slightly nervous. I'm still worried about Stiles and I really hope that he's okay. I mean, I'm sure he will be, but I can't help but worry that he might not be. Those injuries looked pretty bad. They probably look worse than they really are, but who knows?

"Scott? Are you okay? You look... pale." Lydia frowns worriedly at me.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I'm just thinking about Stiles, that's all. I just hope he's okay, you know?" I explain to Lydia. Lydia gives me a soft smile and nods in understanding. She then looks over to Jason sitting sitting beside me. "Who's this?" Lydia asks me curiously. "Oh, this is my son, Jason." I reply. As I turn around to look at him, I see he is already out of seat and goes over to hug Claudia. She hugs him back tightly and her eyes are tight shut. I can't help but smile at the cute sight in front of me. "Yeah, they're really good friends." I tell Lydia as I look back over to her.

"He's really cute. I can also see some similarities between you and him." Lydia comments with a friendly smile. I find myself blushing ever so slightly at what was most likely a compliment. "Thanks, Lyds." I reply with a smile of my own. When Jason and Claudia stop hugging, I introduce Jason to Lydia. Claudia pipes up and says how Lydia is one of the best people that she knows. Jason replies by saying he will have to take her word for it. Lydia and I continue to talk for a little while about random things, trying to take our minds off Stiles. I did ask if she has told Sheriff Stilinski about this, and she says she did, but he will come by after he has finished work. I notice Claudia and Jason go to the corner of the room and start playing with the small amount of toys lying on the table. I am glad that the hospital has it, even if it isn't much. It helps keeps the kids entertained.

Not long after that, Isaac shows up as well, looking worried. I'm very surprised to see him again, just as he is surprised to see me. However, Isaac seems really good with Claudia and Jason and the two of us get into a nice little conversation though. I think Lydia definitely helps that flow nicely. Soon, we are laughing a little and cracking smiles. It definitely is starting to feel more like high school again... Except for the fact that Stiles is in the hospital because someone attacked him. It still makes my heart hurt. I don't really get why. I mean, we've just started becoming close again after not speaking to each other for 10 years. I know things feel different between us now and my heart always seems to beat and flutter a little faster when I'm around Stiles, but even then I don't think it should change much. I've been trying to rid myself of my stupid schoolgirl crush for a while now, but it annoyingly won't go away. So, instead, I've just been trying to hide and deny it. This works somewhat, but I don't think it works enough.
