Scott POV
Later that day, I find myself at Kira's house, talking happily with her, more or less putting off my talk I need to have with Claudia, who is playing in the backyard with Jason still. I watch them through the kitchen window with an absent minded smile, my mind clearly distracted from Kira and the kids out the back, my heart beating nervously again.
"-Scott? What do you think?" Kira asks, pulling me out of my thoughts. I blink a few times and quickly snap my head over to Kira in confusion, feeling startled.
"Huh, what?" I ask in confusion. Kira sighs and rolls her eyes slightly before answering.
"I was talking to you about the school play that Jason is going to be in next Friday. Is 7pm a good time to get there? I can meet you out the front of the auditorium." Kira says, tilting her head slightly to the side.
"Oh... Yeah, that should be fine. The play starts at 7:30pm, so yeah, I'll meet you out the front at 7pm." I nod a little too vigorously.
"What's up, Scott? Clearly something is bothering you." Kira states matter of factly, placing her hands on her hips and gives me a pointed stare.
"Me? Oh, I'm fine, really." I laugh, sounding a bit nervous and I internally wince, knowing Kira will see right through me.
"I'm calling bullshit, McCall. What's wrong?" Kira asks again, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Fine, fine... I'm thinking of proposing to Stiles." I answer with a defeated sigh.
"What?" Kira basically squeals, her eyes going so wide, I swear they are about to pop out of her head. She starts jumping up and down excitedly, still squealing excitedly.
"Shh, shh, calm down!" I hiss, grabbing onto Kira's shoulders desperately, planting her to the ground. Surprisingly, she listens, but I can still practically feel the energy buzzing through her as she stares at me intently with an excited smile on her face.
"I've talked to Stiles' dad about it, and he's happy for me. I also want to talk to Claudia first, to make sure she's cool with it. I'm planning on doing that in the next few minutes, hence why I was getting nervous and zoning out." I explain to my friend calmly.
"Aww, that's so sweet of you, Scott. I'm so proud of you! I can't believe you're finally getting the courage to ask!" Kira exclaims, her voice rising again a little bit.
"I just... I don't know how I should ask him. I think I'll need your help, along with Lydia, Malia and Allison. You're the best with all the romantic stuff. I'm kind of... Well, oblivious to a lot of things apparently. I just don't want to screw this up." I tell Kira, feeling a little embarrassed about needing help, but if it means that if I ask it right, then it's worth it. Kira laughs a little bit.
"You're adorable, you know that? Scott, I seriously doubt that you'd be able to screw the proposal up. It's pretty hard to stuff it up, as it really is a simple question to ask, if you really do love the person and have found a way to get over your nerves." Kira tells me.
"Yeah, I know, but I'm still worried. You know me. My last marriage ended in disaster, so..." I reason with my friend, still holding onto her shoulders. She then places her hands on mine and squeezes them comfortingly.
"I get it, Scott. I do. And I'm sure Malia, Lydia, Allison and I can help you come up with the perfect proposal. Just for the record though, I agreed with Allison about Vivian; she was a bitch and I didn't think she was right for you." Kira begins to explain to me, causing me to laugh a bit.
