Scott POV
Pain. That's all I'm aware of as I start waking up. My entire body feels like it is all on fire while feeling like lead at the same time. I want to scream out in pain and terror as I hear panicked and urgent voices all around me, but I don't have the energy to scream, nor do I do have the energy to open my eyes just yet. It also doesn't help that each breath I take, my lung and chest pain increases off the scale, probably suggesting some broken ribs. I hope it's nothing more serious than that. So, I continue to lie completely still in silence while in pain, trying to figure out the little information that I do have available right now about what's going on. It feels like I'm strapped down to something that feels like a bed, but definitely not as comfortable as a bed. I can also feel some rumbling movement, and that leads me to believe that I'm in some sort of vehicle. An ambulance, perhaps? It takes me another moment to very faintly hear the sirens wailing from somewhere above me and outside, so that confirms my theory that I'm in an ambulance. I also can feel something around my neck, probably some sort of neck brace to keep my neck from moving too much. That makes me panic a little bit, wondering how injured I really am. Judging from the pain I'm in, I'm guessing a lot.
I still hear people talking worriedly around me, but I can't make out what they're saying through my agonising pain throughout my body, including a killer headache. It also doesn't help that my ears are continuously ringing, making it very hard to hear anything. I can barely even hear the sirens. I have never been more terrified in my life. What the hell happened to me? I try and remember everything that I can about the things that happened directly prior to me waking up in pain and confusion in an ambulance.
"Hey, so I was wondering. I know it's probably still way too early to begin talking about this, but what time of year should we get married? Do you want a summer wedding, fall wedding, winter wedding or a spring wedding? Or don't you have a preference?" Stiles asks curiously as he continues to drive through Beacon Hills back home after our date night dinner Debby's Diner. I glance at the speedometer and notice that Stiles is slightly over the speed limit, but it makes me grin a little. Stiles is obviously eager to get back home to enjoy the rest of our date night. I'm really glad that Allison decided to watch the kids for the night at her house, as I think the night for Stiles and me is only just beginning. My grin turns into a small smirk at that thought. I notice Stiles' eyebrow raise a little, and only then do I realize that I've left Stiles hanging.
"Oh! Uh... I'm not really sure. I haven't really thought about it, I guess." I respond honestly, shrugging a little as I glance out the window for a moment, watching as the bright lights, shops and houses speed by us. I've always enjoyed driving at night, contrary to everyone else hating it. I just feel like Beacon Hills somehow becomes more... Alive at night. I know that probably seems really silly, but yeah. At night, I can almost imagine a whole other world come alive in the preserve, animals and maybe even other more mystical creatures roaming the preserve. Or maybe Mom read me one too many fantasy stories in bed when I was a kid.
"I've always thought it'd be good to have a summer wedding. Less chance for bad weather, you know? Well, not rainy weather, at least. I know people say rain at your wedding is supposed to be a good sign, but I would rather just have a warm, sunny and perfect wedding that isn't freezing cold and everyone is dripping wet." Stiles continues, rambling on a little bit, just like he always does. I turn back to look at him, smiling lightly as I listen to him talk, feeling so incredibly lucky to be with Stiles. He lights up my world and he means everything to me, and I love everything about him.
"Yeah, I understand that. But what happens if it's too hot?" I reply, quirking my eyebrow slightly.
"Well, I've always thought a beach wedding would be awesome. The ocean views would be fantastic. And hopefully it's cooler down by the beaches as well. If not, well, I guess the reception will be moved to being in the water." Stiles informs me as he glances at me for a fraction of a second with an excited smile, a happy spark in his eyes that makes my heart skip a beat. Even now, Stiles still finds ways to make me feel a little giddy, and I love that.
