Scott POV
Stiles and I get back to my place after the very successful date and proposal, both of us still buzzing with excitement and we are holding onto each other's hands tightly, neither of us really wanting to let go, so glad that we have each other. As I open the front door and walk through the hallway with Stiles though, I see that all of our friends and family are waiting in the living room for us. As they see us enter, it looks like they all simultaneously hold their breaths. Even Claudia and Jason have smiles on their faces they are trying to hide, and I can hear them giggle quietly with each other.
Stiles and I exchange a look, neither of us really that surprised that our friends and family would wait at home for us, wanting to know exactly how the proposal went. Our hands are still intertwined together, and as I gaze into Stiles' beautiful whiskey colored eyes, I think to myself that I really am the luckiest man in the world. I have Stiles as my fiancé, we are raising two beautiful kids together and we have the most kind, caring and supportive family and friends in the entire world. I really couldn't ask for a better life.
"So... How did it go?" Allison asks eventually, and Stiles and I both turn back to her. It's clear she's doing her best to contain her excitement and to not start jumping up and down, but it's not working particularly well. It's cute how excited and happy she is for us, though.
"He said yes!" I exclaim as I lift our hands up and point to the ring on Stiles' finger. It doesn't take long for the room to explode with excitement and joy.
"Oh my god, congratulations! I knew that it would all work out!" Kira squeals in joy and pride as she jumps up and down, like an excited teenager all over again. All of our friends and family start walking over to us and hugging the two of us, all of them giving us their congratulations and telling us how proud they are of Stiles and me. Mom and the Sheriff were definitely crying the most and would not let go of us for a solid five minutes. They kept on saying how good we are for each other and how happy we will make each other feel and that we both will finally get the happy ending we both deserve. I definitely agree with our parents on those points, especially the happy ending thing. Stiles and I have gone through so much pain and heartache on our own and with different partners before. Ever since I've been with Stiles, I've just been so much lighter and happier. Being married to him will be even more amazing, and I know that Stiles would never ever give up and walk out on me and Jason, like Vivian did. I also know that I would never in a billion years think of hurting Stiles or Claudia physically and emotionally like James did. They mean the world to me, as does my son Jason, and I want to keep all of them safe. I've always been protective over the people that I love.
After most of the excited babble between our friends and parents die down, Jason and Claudia make their way through the crowd and walk up to Stiles and I with excited smiles on their faces.
"Does that mean we are going to be a family, Daddy?" Claudia asks as she gazes up at her dad. I gaze over at Stiles to see him smiling and nodding, a few tears dripping down his face.
"Yes. Yes, it does. You and Jason will be brother and sister." Stiles replies, his voice so quiet that it's almost a whisper. Jason and Claudia squeal in excitement, giving each other a hug before they jump into mine and Stiles' arms. I laugh in surprise as I hold onto Jason securely as he hugs me tightly and I gaze over to see Stiles carrying Claudia in his arms too.
"I love you, Dad. I'm happy for you. I think we'll be a great family with Stiles and Claudia. We don't need Mom." Jason tells me with a happy, sincere smile on his face, and in that moment, the smallest amount of weight resting on my shoulders finally disappears, now knowing that Jason understands that his mother won't be coming back for him and he accepts that fact.
