Caitlyn had been too excited over Mitchie's news that morning to even glance at her timetable and it had been left to Nate to realise that they both weren't needed until the evening.

Perfect excuse, he had told her as he shoved his and her guitar cases into the back of her beat up old car, to get away together.

She had no complaints as she started up her car and he hopped in the passenger side.

With no destination in mind, the sun was beaming down and the windows open, Caitlyn couldn't think of a better way to spend her free morning.

She wore her favourite sunglasses and he wore his old beat-up baseball cap and they were intent on disappearing for a few hours. He was laughing while he flicked through her CD collection she kept in her car, comprising of mostly Connect Three and Mitchie's albums.

But she thought that his laugh was better than any music he could put on.

His phone felt weird in her pocket, he had given her it before they left. A precautionary measure to make sure that he didn't pick up or answer Dana's calls or messages.

Nate sung over his own songs and Caitlyn felt the tension leaving her shoulders. She kept driving, turning down different roads whenever one of them felt the urge to.

The swapped the stories they had missed out on during their years on the road away from each other and Caitlyn was finally feeling like she had her Nate back. Like they were getting back to how close they used to be.

She just wished the extra feelings didn't come back with it.

Every time she would glance over to him, a goofy smile on his face in her passenger seat, she would end up smiling goofily too, and giving herself a stern telling off. Things were complicated enough in their lives without this too.

She was just joking about the fact that fact they weren't exactly getting their summer off to a great start, she was riling up the staff and he was still stuck going back to Dana when he pointed out a small pullover to the left.

She pulled the car into the small car park, space for a few cars and dotted with worn picnic tables, looking over a rather breath-taking view, in the middle of the forestry stretching out ahead and below them, was a waterfall. Crystal-clear water was gushing over the edge and into a pool that was visible through the trees.

"Now this is what I call a hiding spot." Nate smiled.

Nate took it as his chance to get out their guitars and they wandered over and sat on the picnic tables.

This eventually led to her wondering where her dance lessons were.

"So I get my song writing help, but what about your dance lessons?"

He tried to make up some excuse about having no music, to which she pointed out that her cd collection was ready to play form her car radio system. She turned up one of Connect Three's slower songs and right there in the middle of the empty carpark, she taught him some more steps.

He already had the first ones memorised and she half suspected that he had been practising them without her knowing.

She eventually showed him how to dance with someone. Placing her hand on his shoulder and showing him where to put his hand on her waist and maintain a strong frame. He took her free hand in his and she tried to focus on the fact that there was space between them, and she had to keep it there.
