The next two weeks passed just like Caitlyn had hoped her summer would go. She was enjoying her production class, Nate was happier now that Dana couldn't get to him.
The days went by in a blur of sunshine, classes and music. The campers were really starting to get into the spirit of Camp Rock. The sun shone brighter every day, the other counsellors seemed to really warm up to her.
And her evenings were filled with laughter and music and really, was there anything better? She helped Dee out with events, she had a good catch up with Brown, she wrote more music with Nate than she had in a long time. He was really getting good at his slow dancing and he even started writing his own songs, none of which consisted of heartbreak or anything Dana related and Caitlyn couldn't have been happier.
They spent their free time just like they had when they were kids, hiking through the forests around the lake, sneaking food away to have a picnic, creating stage productions that they dreamed about and got lost in the feeling that summer would never end.

"Caitlyn!" Nate ran ahead of his brothers towards her.
"Nate what is it?" She asked, dropping her bags on the ground.
"You'll never guess what!" he said with a smile so wide she couldn't help but grin at how happy her best friend was.
"What?" She asked. "Did your parents say that it's okay for you to come with me on the cruise with my parents?" She had been dreading having to spend the final two weeks of summer before high school stuck on a cruise ship with no friends while her parents preformed every night.
"Oh." His face dropped, "No...I...I didn't get to ask that..." He admitted, scratching the back of his neck.
"That's okay, you can ask them later." The duo had been planning their own holiday together all summer.
"Emm...actually Caitlyn that's what I was going to tell you..." He said, his eyes suddenly full of worry. Her twelve year old heart gave a pang, she didn't want to cause his happiness to vanish like that.
"Can you believe it Cait?" Shane asked, as he picked her up and spun her around while Jason practically jumped around with joy.
"Believe what?"
"Uncle Brown and Mom and Dad just told us, those agents that were at the final jam want to sign us!" Shane practically shouted with excitement.
"We're going to be famous." Jason told her as if she was uncertain of what signing meant.
"What?" She asked, her voice nearly failing her.
"No more Camp Rock, we're going to be so huge. We'll be going on tours and making records and..." Shane rattled on and only Nate seemed to notice that she wasn't overly ecstatic about it all.
They were going to be leaving.
What was she going to do with her summers now?
But Nate, her best friend, looked at her with hopefulness. This was what he had dreamed about for years. He wanted her to be happy about it too.
So she squashed all her disappointment under her fake enthusiasm.
"Yay! Oh, I'm so happy for you guys!" She shouted along with them, and joined in their slightly chaotic group hug.
She felt them slipping from her grasp, summer was over, and life was never going to be the same was it?
