Your POV:

"M-M-Matthew?" You asked nervously. "Don't you t-think that this mountain may be a bit too high?" You looked down, not even being able to see the bottom of the mountain.

"You think this is high? I've ridden down this mountain many times before, but since it is your first time down a mountain this high, we can do something much lower. For you, of course. I don't mind."

You gulped. "N-n-no, this is fine. I-I can manage."

"You sure? I'm not going to force you to do something that you're not comfortable with."

"Matthew... I... no... I'm going to do this. I can do this!" You shouted as loud as you could. Matthew flinched at the sudden change of tone.

"Sorry, Mattie. Did I scared you?"

"No, you're fine. And if you don't feel safe going alone, you can hold my h-"

"Matthew... help!" You said, extending your hand out because you suddenly started going down the mountain.

"(Y/N)!" Matthew went down as well, trying to catch up with you.

Meanwhile...

"Ah! I'm going to die!" You shouted, not knowing what to do, but trying to keep your legs as close together as possible. The bottom seemed like hundreds of miles away.

Suddenly, you were swept off your feet.

"Hey, maple."

"Matthew! Thank goodness. I thought that this was going to be the death of me." You said, wrapping your arms around his neck.

He chuckled. "Not on my watch."

The two of you were caught in the moment. For a split second, it seemed like a kiss was going to happen... until... Matthew wasn't exactly paying attention where he was going and ran right into a pile of snow. That, thankfully, broke your guys fall.

You dug yourself and Matthew out of the snow.

"Man, that was intense." You said.

"You're telling me. I'm guessing skiing isn't your best strong suit."

"No... not really... I'm sorry."

"H-hey... don't feel sorry. You can always practice to get better at it. I'll even teach you."

"Really?"

"Of course." He said, with one of the warmest smiles that you have ever seen.

"Hey, let's call it a day and head back to my place to warm up. Okay?"

You nodded your head. "Okay."

>>>>>>

You and Matthew sat together on his couch, wrapped in a soft, warm blanket.

"How was the hot chocolate, maple?"

"It was delicious, especially when you make it." You said, getting closer to his face.

"T-thank you... (Y/N)..." Matthew said softly.

Before the two of you knew it, lips were touching. The kiss was soft, passionate, and most importantly, 'sweet'. :)
