Chapter Twenty-Six

Lauren will you relax!" Dinah says trying to stop Lauren from changing her outfit, again.

"I can't! I'm nervous. Everything has to go perfect tonight and I don't even know what to wear" Lauren says running a hand through her hair.

"You're making it seem like you're the one meeting her parents and not her" Lauren shook her head. You don't understand. "If Normani wasn't worried at school today then you shouldn't be either" Dinah said getting her to see logic. Lauren took a deep breath before glancing in the mirror at herself,

"I lookdumb as fuck, DJ" Lauren said with an exaggerated look. Dinah shakes her no, "You're trying to make me look like Mr. Rodgers Neighbor with this sweater." Dinah laughs and then nods,

"Fine." Lauren mouths, 'thank you' as she takes off the sweater and throws it at Dinah. She unbuttons the top few so that it shows some cleavage but not a lot and tuck her shirt in of her white pencil skirt. "Way better"

"Thanks." the doorbell rings signaling that Normani was here. Lauren's eyes grew wide before quickly running out her door and down the stairs with Dinah struggling to keep up behind her. "I GOT IT!" Lauren yells as she runs to the door. She takes two deep breaths in order to calm herself before opening the door to see Normani looking behind her, "You're not thinking about leaving are you?" Lauren smiles at her. Normani turns around with smile,

"No beautiful. Just making sure my car is within running distance just in case I need a quick exscape" Normani says getting Lauren to shake her head at her. Normani checks Lauren out and then raises an eyebrow up and down quickly. "Mmm" She walks forward with her head tilted before grabbing the waistband of Lauren's skirt and tugging her close. "Soooo, you can definitely pull off the "fuck me im your teacher" look" Lauren smiles while wrapping her arms around her,

"Oh come on now, baby. You know I can pull off any look." Lauren pecks her lips, "Just like you. You look beautiful" Normani fake swoons making Lauren roll her eyes,

"A girl can get use to hearing that" Normani says before pecking her lips,

"Awww you guys are so cute." Normani looks down at her watch,

"Shouldn't you be heading over? Zenny was leaving the house the same time as me" Dinah eyes grow big before pushing Lauren and Normani out her way,

"Shit! I totally forgot" Dinah then turns around, "I want details tomorrow!" Lauren nods her head before waving her hand for Dinah to go. "Night!" She says while getting in her car. Normani giggles and then turns to Lauren,

"Parentals" Lauren nods taking her hand and pulling her inside closing the door.

"Ready?" Normani nods before taking a subtle breath to calm her nerves as Lauren grabs her hand and starts walking towards the kitchen. Lauren walks in the kitchen to see her dad and mom smiling about something, "Normani's here" Her parents turn to look at Normani. Her mom smiling while walking towards Normani to give her a hug,

"Hey sweetie. Is my daughter treating you right?" Normani giggles,

"For now but we shall see if she keeps it up" Lauren rolls her eyes before looking over at her dad who still has an unreadable look on his face. Here goes nothing.

"Dad" He smiles at her, "This is Normani, my girlfriend. Babe this is my dad" Normani smiles at him even though she feels her heartbeat moving faster and faster.

"Normani" Her dad says in a grave voice, "Come with me to the study while Lauren sets the table" Lauren shakes her head looking at Normani who nods at her father while keeping the smile on her face. Oh no!
