Chapter Thirty- Four

Lauren and Normani went back to school before Zendaya came back to find they were missing. Surprisingly, Normani was taking it like G and not giving it away with what they did. Lauren definitely applauded her as Normani applauded Lauren for her patience and restraint that she had when they made love for the first time. Lauren had a smile the entire time at practice, even with Coach yelling at them to get their shit together. Lauren 's thoughts went to Normani as she ran plays with her teams and a smile instantly plays against her lips. Luckily, coach wasn't going pissed at random shit, so she didn't go home half asleep as usual. She went home after practice with her mom and had a quiet dinner with her talking every now and then about subjects that interested them both. Normani being Clara's favorite topic at the moment since her daughter couldn't keep the smile off her face, the blush that crept on her pale cheek when she thought about Normani or her saying something, and the bright sparkle in her eyes that shine whenever Normani's name was spoken. Her mom would just laugh at her daughter but was grateful to see her daughter this happy and all because of Normani.

Morning came to early for Lauren as she got up and head to school. They got on the bus and left early for state so they can get an extra practice in, to get a feel of the pool. Lauren had her headphones in listening to Girl by the internetsince Normani told her that she dedicated the song to her. Lauren had to admit it was good and she could understand why Normani dedicated it to her. Girl if they don't know your worth tell Lo you my girl anything you want is yours. She looked up to see some movie that they were supposedly watching before laying down on the seat and closing her eyes on the charter that they rented for state. Her phone vibrated getting her to open her eyes annoyed before they brightened up to see who had texted her.

Hey baby did you leave already- wifey👑💦.

Lauren nodded,

'Yea I am wassam babygirl?'

there was a pause before Shana caught her attention, "Hey, did coach say she was keeping the lineups the same or she was changing them?" Lauren took a moment to think but couldn't remember what coach said,

"I don't know but I think... Well maybe she wants it to stay the same but I'm not sure. Ask Becky." Shana rolled her eyes but went ahead and asked her getting Lauren to grin knowing Shana didn't want to talk to Becky. They had gotten into it yesterday at practice over dumb shit of course but the coach made them make up. Lauren chuckled to herself just seeing Becky roll her eyes at Shana as she asked her the same question she asked Lauren .

Lauren smiled then replied back with 'love you' before shutting her eyes to kill time. Time for my ass to go to bed.

A couple of hours later, she felt someone whisper in her ear to wake up but she really didn't want to yet so she kept her eyes closed. "Ahem, Lauren " The voice asked softly, "Wake up." Lauren shook her head, still not ready. "But we're here" Lauren smirked. Who was trying to wake her up?

"Soooo, I should wake up"

"Ummm Yea? I think?" Lauren chuckles softly, deciding on taking the person out of their misery by getting up as she opened her eyes to come connect with blue eyes. They widened in shock and a little fear as Lauren 's eyes trailed her face trying to figure out who this was. "Uh uh, C-coach told me to wake you up" Lauren nodded as her eyes narrowed causing the girl to lower her eyes.

"Halsey, right?" She looked at Lauren surprised before nodding her head, "I thought so. New haircut?" She nodded again before running a hand in it self consciously, "It suits you. I like your hair better when it's short than long" Lauren smiled trying to settle her nerves but probably rattled them more seeing the girl blush and give her a shy smile. Here we go.
