Memories of Midnight

Part 16 *Vixen*

Nate and I sat in silence until we pulled up to a large grey castle hidden by mountains. I gasped looking out the window in excitement. My tail wagged furiously and I accidentally hit Nate in the face a couple times. My ears and tail grew larger when I had absorbed some of Miracle's magic and energy.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit you."

I sat down as Nate chuckled. We parked in front of the castle and walked over this really cool drawbridge. I spun in circles trying to take everything in when a boy walked up to us. He was tall and muscular. He had short green hair and snake-like eyes. When he talked his 's' sounded like a hiss and he had a strange forked tongue.

When I got closer to him I could see a green tint to his skin and scaly patches on random areas of his body.

"S-s-s-sir, your dinner has-s-s-s been made and s-s-s-so has-s-s-s our gues-s-s-st's-s-s-s. Her room has-s-s-s als-s-s-so been prepared."

He did a small bow and walked off. I snickered in amusement and followed Nate toward the dining room. The walls were covered in beautiful paintings. I stopped in front of one because I had noticed a familiar face. It was the woman from my past. She was surrounded by men and women.

They all had different animal features. She had a beautiful smile, but I noticed that she didn't have ears like me or a tail, just the red eyes. There was boy standing beside her. There was nothing special about him. He only had a faint golden glow surrounding him. Underneath the painting was a small plaque reading

~Grave Angels~.

Nate walked up to me and the painting.

"She's beautiful isn't she? She's the founder of our group the Grave Angels. And that boy beside her is her second in command."

"Who are they?"

"That's Ophelia Hyperion, the alpha wolf spirit and the boy is obviously me."

I looked at him confused.

"What are you?"

He stared at the painting just a bit longer before looking down at smiling.

"Me? I'm an angel."
