Nate and I both gasped as we watched our tattoos do the same thing. They pointed to me then to my chambers. We quickly ran to the room as they started pointing to my mom's strong box on the shelf. I walked over to my nightstand and grabbed the key from the secret room and carefully placed it inside the key hole. The box clicked as the lid popped open to reveal a small leather bound book with my name on the cover. I carefully picked it up and opened the front cover. It was my mother's handwriting.

~To my beautiful daughter Midnight.~

I turned the page and began reading what seemed like a letter.

~Dear Midnight,
If you're reading this it means you made it through Spirit Realm safely and to Nate and the Grave Angels. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to greet you and guide you through the process of becoming queen. But as I'm sure that Nate has told you my story, our story, then you understand why I'm not around. This journal was left here for you to learn of our journey and how to rule over Spirit Realm in a caring and loving manner unlike my past predecessor Miracle. She rules with an iron fist and through fear. Soon you will have to challenge her and you'll need help from all of your friends here at Grave Angels. I know you can do it, especially now that you will soon have my abilities. But there is a strong possibility that you'll be even stronger than I. No one knew that I did secret experiments, but I'm telling you now. My dear Midnight, in your last life you were nothing but a mere alpha wolf like me, but this time you will be strong and live for all of eternity. Your mother was a few months pregnant when I brought her to Spirit Realm. I knew you were going to become great because I had came up with a plan. I was going to give you angel DNA before you were born. So I performed experiments and luckily they were successful. Carefully I locked these genes away with a powerful magic to make sure no one found out until the time was right. The only way to unlock it was to have an angel place the Grave Angel pendant around your neck. Of course I know it's going to be Nate. He was an amazing soldier. He never knew of this plan so Nate if you're reading this with Midnight I'm sorry I hid this from you. Just know though you're not alone anymore. Anyways I know Miracle will use tactics to try and destroy you unfairly so these abilities will even things out. She will most likely use my ex apprentice against you, but my beautiful daughter, I know you'll find a way to save him and everyone in Spirit Realm. I love you so much sweety. I believe in you so much.
Sincerely,
Ophelia~

I stared down at the pages and looked up at Nate. His eyes were filled with tears as he looked up at the painting of my mother. He loved her and she kept such a big secret from him. I closed the book and placed my hand on his arm.

"Nate, I'm so sorry."

He wiped his eyes and looked at me. I softly smiled and he pulled me in for a hug.

"At least she apologized."

We stared at the book and continued to read it. The pages were filled with rules and experiences of ruling Spirit Realm until we came across a page dated. It was dated a few days before my birth.

~October 1, 1994

Today I checked in on my soon to be baby girl. I can feel her angelic presence. Its just like Nate, but scarily stronger. He's the one I'll miss the most. He helped me and became one of my greatest friends. I wish I could've met him sooner, but fate can be very cruel sometimes. I know he'll take good care of Midnight. I will soon be giving up my life to protect her once she reached the age. I wish I could tell him I love him, but that would be cruel and only cause him pain. She will be the strongest being in all of Spirit Realm and no one will dare to oppose her. She will be an amazing leader. Nate will teach her everything she needs to know. I love them both so much. this will be my one and only entry on my feelings. The blank pages are for you my lovely Midnight. Nate if you read this I'm sorry I didn't tell you how I felt. Please forgive me. I had never been in love before.~
