"Novae stop! You can't go back for her!"
I sat Miracle down on a bench inside of a town we landed in and headed back towards the forest to open a portal to Spirit Realm. Vixen may be a danger to Spirit Realm, but she was my love, my fiancé, my future wife. She was my everything. I knew that if I just talked to her she would calm down and we could learn to help control her new abilities. No one was going to stop me from saving her.
"I'm going back Miracle and you can't stop me."
I ran toward the portal's location and quickly jumped through. When I landed and focused my eyes Vixen wasn't there. I looked around and couldn't find her. I was starting to panic. I stopped and steadied myself. I sat in the spot Vixen was standing just before the portal closed.
I closed my eyes and started a meditation that my mom had taught me. A third eye opened and I was transported to the past as Vixen. It was us and Nate. He was telling us that they were scared. Then we got up and left with him. Suddenly I was thrown out of Vixen's body as they drove through a portal.
I forced my eyes to open as I looked up at the sky while I laid in the grass sweating.
"Of course its Grave Angel magic!"
I yelled up at the sky as I grew frustrated. Why would she believe him? Then a thought occurred to me. She was supposedly going to become evil, but the only reason why it was happening was because I left. More importantly, I left with another woman. I looked around until I felt a trace of Vixen nearby. Suddenly it was gone.
That was weird.
I looked around taking everything in. The manor was gone, bits and pieces of housing were scattered near the hole, tire tracks leading into what I'm guessing is the portal Vixen took. Everything was a wreck and my Vixen was gone with a Grave Angel. I never should have left her. I opened the portal back up and sat down beside Miracle who didn't even leave the bench.
"Where's Vixen?"
"Grave Angels have her."
I looked down at the ground sadly as I put my head in my hands. The most important thing in my life was now gone and all because I escaped with another woman and left her behind. Miracle put her arm around my shoulders and I instantly felt better. My worries, sadness, everything. I just felt numb and at peace. She was using her abilities to make me forget my troubles.
"What do you think you're doing Miracle?"
I moved her arm and stood in front of her with an accusing look. Miracle was a strange woman. Actually Miracle wasn't even a woman. She was the goddess of Spirit Realm. The entire time I lived in Spirit Realm she was the one who ran the place and kept everything at peace. She was about a few inches shorter than me with long grey hair.
Her blue eyes could freeze you with just one look. Literally. She had the abilities of all supernaturals. Except for one. The wolf spirit. Everything was perfect until some of the supernaturals formed the Grave Angels.
The establishment was meant to overthrow Miracle and become the rulers of Spirit Realm. In order to control the Grave Angels she sent out an army of her closest followers to kill every one of them. Only the founder and second in command escaped. But no one saw who the founder was. Nate, the boy who tricked my Vixen, was the second in command. No one knew what kind of supernatural he was, not even Miracle.
The entire organization was based off of mystery. Years later they started growing by concocting experiments on mundanes to turn them into half breeds. Nobody knew anything but that their numbers were increasing. Miracle looked away and stood up.
"Novae, it's time you forgot about Vixen."
I stared at her in disbelief. How could she say that? I looked at her until I felt my body and energy growing weak. I looked down at my hands to see them slowly losing color. I looked back up at Miracle to see her gaining strength and smiling down at me.
"Miracle, why are you doing this?!"
"Because I'm not going to lose my kingdom to that flea bag."
The she turned away and walking into a portal, disappearing into Spirit Realm.
