Chapter 11: Lame. Awkward. Weird

Parker

"Mr. Reynolds, a new student wants to audition the club." Claire said

"Is she/he worth our time?" Coach Bradshaw asked.

"I assure you. She is." Tara said.

Who was this person? Was it Riya? I had asked her to audition weeks ago. If she wanted she would've come by now.

"Let her in." Mr Reynolds said.

"Come in Riya." Veronica said.

So it was her. Riya Singhania . A newbie who popped into our world music and dance.

"Hi." she said as she came in.

"Hi. Riya." Coach Bradshaw said.

"You're the new student who got transferred from India. Right?" Mr Reynolds asked.

"Am I still considered to be new after two weeks?" she asked innocently.

"Yes you are." Mr Reynolds said with a smile on his face.

You might be surprised to find me, a popular jock in Glee club. Then I must tell you stop being stereotypical. What if I am jock? Are only nerds allowed to sing and dance? Even we can do that. Trust me, that does not ruin your reputation. Well, not at least mine.

"So what are you going to sing for us Riya?"

"I would like to sing 'Don't Stop Believing by Journey' The glee version." She replied.

Our tastes matched.

"I could use some backup for the male section." she said.

"I could do it." I said.

...........

Riya

"I could do it." a familiar voice said.

Wait....Mr GWDCOMT was in the Glee club? How could I not have noticed?

"Go on Mr Adams." Coach Bradshaw said.

"I hope you know the chords." He said handing me a guitar.

I nodded my head in affirmative.

"3...2...1...begin." I said.

"Just a small town girl, Livin' in a lonely world, She took the midnight train going anywhere." he started.

"Just a city boy, Born and raised in South Detroit, He took the midnight train going anywhere." I continued.

" A singer in a smokey room."

"The smell of wine and cheap perfume."

We continued it together.

"For a smile they can share the night and it goes on and on and on and on."

"Strangers, Waiting, Up and down the boulevard. Their shadows searching in the night.
Streetlight, people, Living just to find emotion, Hidin' somewhere in the night." Zee, Tara , Claire and Veronica joined .

"Don't stop believing." Parker sang.

"Hold on to that feeling." I continued.

"Streetlight , people" we sang together.

"Don't Stop," I ended the song.

Claps surrounded the room. I had never even sung this song ever with someone else. I couldn't believe that it had actually sounded so well!
