Chapter 14: Idiotic Bozo and Butt Hole
I know, you're thinking that Parker's an absolute jerk who sleeps around with new girls everyday just cause people call him 'The Bad boy' or 'The Golden Boy' of Redfeilds High. But no, he isn't those kind of guys whom you find in stories or like the typical stereotypes.He gets good grades. He is willing to start a conversation regardless of the person he is talking to. His friendliness, manners and smile were captivating which actually made people (especially girls ) drawn to him. The fact that he changed girlfriends every now and then made him a little jerk-types. But on the whole he's a really nice person. Well, that's what I came to know in these two months. Also the fact that I got into the basketball team and the glee club without anyone realizing that I was a YouTube sensation made my last school year even better. I had survived two months in an American High school!
Presently, it was the Friday of the last week of August. To be more specific, the 31st.
My bag slung over one shoulder as I put my books inside my locker. It was time for lunch. Each table in the cafeteria was filled with people. With my food tray in hand, I walked towards the picnic tables nearest to the cafeteria in the lawn. Most of the picnic tables were full. Tara and Zee were still nowhere to be seen.
Autumn had just started coming in. The leaves on the trees had just started turning yellow. A mild wind blew. The sun was hidden behind the clouds in the clear blue sky.
My sandwich in one hand and the latest book I was reading in the other I intended to spend the next hour.
"Keep that book down. Now." I heard a familiar voice after a few minutes.
"If you keep on disturbing me at this rate, I will never finish reading it !" I exclaimed.
"I don't care." he said.
This particular he was Jesse Adams. Brother of Parker Adams. Same jerkiness and cockiness. He was seven months younger than Parker so we were still of the same age.
"Mind it, she's got a world record of completing The Selection Series in one day." Tara said appearing out of nowhere.
"Seriously? 5 books in a day? Including the extras?" He said.
"Yup." I answered re opening my book.
"Give it to me, Idiot." I said as Parker snatched the book from behind.
"Nope. Let's see. Which book is this? The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks. Why do I think that I have heard the name 'Shannara' somewhere?" he said.
"This book has been adapted into an MTV tv series , 'The Shannara Chronicles' starring Austin Butler, you idiot!" I said struggling to take the book from his hand.
"I would like to keep this book for a few days until I finish reading it." he said putting the book in his bag.
"How many days?"
"Maybe a week..,.... a month or even a year." He said.
Everyone started laughing. I hated it when people took my books away from me. I was mad at everyone for not supporting me while Parker teased me.
"FINE." I said and stormed out of the lawn.
Parker
" FINE" she said and stormed off.
I liked teasing Riya. The fact that she gets teased so easily makes it even better. I didn't want to read that book. Hell! I had no intention of reading it. I wasn't interested in books.
I really liked Riya. She wasn't like other girls who always fawn over me and are hungry for sex. She had an attitude which I had never seen in any girl ever before. She didn't have a bitchy attitude like Regina and was not even as soft spoken as Claire. She was totally a girl who would stand up for herself. What I felt for her, I had never felt it with any other girl I had dated. Do I like her...... more than a friend? But I guess she has a boyfriend. She keeps chatting with some Indian guy. I hear Zee, Tara and her talking about someone named 'Kaaebeer' in Hindi. Maybe that was the name of her boyfriend.Maybe this was just a feeling. I needed to get over it.
"So guys,I hope you remember its Riya's birthday on Sunday. We are giving her surprise birthday party." Tara started.
Shit! Tara told me about this last week! I absolutely forgot! Only one person can help me with this . My mom.
"Wait a sec. It's Riri's birthday day after ? How do I not know and you do?" Zee.
"Cause you are a idiotic bozo and a butt hole." she said.
"I haven't bought her anything yet!" he said.
"That's entirely your problem."Tara replied giving the typical sister look.
"If you're done can we go on?" Claire said.
"Party starts at 7 in the evening but you guys are coming in the morning. We have planned a BIG surprise for Riya. "
"We have?" Zee asked with an i-am-utterly-clueless look on his face.
Tara lightly nudged him.
"Ohhhh. That. I remember." he said.
"So what time?" Jesse asked.
"Midnight." Tara said.
"Done." Jesse and I said in unison.
"You're sleeping over Claire and Veronica?" Tara said.
Claire nodded her head in affirmative.
"So lets meet at midnight on Sunday ."
"But who's invited to the party?" Jesse asked.
"Some close friends and family."Tara said.
"Most of our family is back in India so we have invited the people who stay within the states or in Canada." Zee continued.
Seemed like he had recollected his memory.
"BTW, I already bought Riya something she loves. I just couldn't remember." Zee said grinning.
"You sure have." Claire said rolling her eyes.
Zee winked at her which made her cheeks as red as a tomato.
Something is seriously going on between these two. I need to find out.
"Hope you've bought something too Boing." Veronica told Jesse.
"My name isn't Boing and yes I have."
Veronica was a really nice girl I felt. She had given Jesse a nickname which made no sense at all, but the way she teased him with that nickname made them cute together.
But the first thing I need to do is get to know what Riya loves. I wanna make
her feel lucky. I don't want her to feel that no one cares about her cause I do. I admit it:
I LIKE RIYA SINGHANIA. Surely more than a friend.

So this is it. I am officially done. With the chapter I mean, not the book. I am not leaving so soon. Its just the first day of my summer holidays and I updated two chapters. There are a lot of chapters to be written and I haven't even planned how this book ends! There are a few surprises in the next chapter for sure but who's excited for Riya's birthday? Do you think Parker will confess? What will happen if he does? Does Riya like him too but is not confessing? I don't know that myself. But you will after a few months.
