Chapter 24: Eat. Sleep. Party. Repeat.
"So, you mean to tell me that your parents and my parents are going to India for an entire week to attend Durga puja leaving you with us." Tara said.
"Exactly." Kabir replied a wide grin on his face.
"How could you do this mom!" Tara squealed at Bibz. "How can you leave me with three monkeys in the same house? Plus, during pujo! Why can't we go?"
"You're in 12th grade. You have to go to college. Plus, you're already going to miss classes because of the competition stuff. It's just a week, darling. And we need to go this year. It's the 150th puja in the Banerjee household." Bibz said.
Bibz and Mom were Babita Banerjee and Udita Banerjee before marriage. So that's where the Banerjee household comes in.
"1 week = 7 days = 168 hours= 10080 minutes!" Tara whined.
"I'm here for you Tara. Plus, I am the one who needs to tolerate the three of you." I said.
"Claire and Veronica can come over for a week. But, I'm warning you, no partying on my house. Especially Zee." Bibz said.
"Bobby, If we don't leave now, we'll miss the flight. Bye kids." Chachu told Bibz and walked towards the door.
Yeah, Chachu called Bibz, 'Bobby'. Since their college days.
"Ok kids. Stay safe. Don't bring the house down. And no partying. Study." She kissed our temples one by one and dragged her suitcase outside.
"Bye, kids." I told Aman and Nats kissing each of their cheeks. "Say hi to all the cousins from us."
"Bye Di." They said and followed Bibz and Chachu.
"So, we got the house to ourselves for a week. What should we do?" Tara said.
"Eat. Sleep. Party. Repeat. " Kabir said.
"Are you thinking what I am thinking?" Zee said.
"WE ARE HOSTING A PARTY ON FRIDAY NIGHT!" Kabir and Zee said in unison.
"Nah. Not happening." Tara said.
"And who put you in charge, luv?" I said.
"C'mon, Ri! Not you too. Ye toh dono salle kutte kameene chichore hein. Tu kyun saath de rahi hein?" She said.
"Hey. That's mean." Kabir said.
"We promised mom." Tara said.
"We promised Bibz that we won't throw a party here. We didn't promise her that we won't throw a party at Bandar's house!" I said.
They stared at me for a few seconds.
"Who are you?" Tara said.
"Where is my Chashmish?" Kabir said.
"What the hell have you done to my sister?" Zee said.
"What? Can I never have good ideas for a change?" I said.
"Yes. You can." Tara said patting my back.
"But I have a condition. No strong alcohol. We'll have breezers and beer. No tequila. "
"What's the fun in that?" Zee whined.
"I know what happens to you when you get drunk. So, just shut up." Tara said.
"Now, the most important question. Bandar, do you have your keys?"
"Yup." He said taking out a bunch of keys.
