Chapter 3: Oooh! Likey Likey

"Are you sure that you don't wanna wear makeup? Everyone wears it around here." Tara asked me.

"Tara, you know me. I hate putting this stuff on my face. It makes me sweat."

"As you wish. But come down fast. Mom's got a headache. She's probably having another migraine."

"K." I replied and grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt from my suitcase. I still hadn't unpacked. I will unpack it when I get time although I don't know when that 'time' will come.

I looked around the room which I was staying in. It was perfect for a teenager. Walls were light blue and designed on my demand. There was a study table on one side with a wooden cupboard below for keeping study material. It had a platform for keeping my books when I studied and small shelves to keep other stuff. In the middle of the room was a queen sized bed with a bedside table adjoined to it. To its right was a closet fitted with glass doors. Right opposite to the bed there was a guitar shaped book shelf which had the space to keep about 200 books. Tara's room was the room next to mine and we had a bathroom which was common to both rooms.

I took a quick shower and got dressed. Taking my spectacles and watch from the bedside table I headed downstairs.

I quickly opened Zee's bedroom to find him sleeping. I looked at my watch to check the time.

How did I wake up by 7.30 and also on a Sunday????? Something is totally wrong with me.

As I went downstairs I could smell good stuff. Yippee! Bibz is making good FOOD!

"What are you making Bibz?"

"Mac and Cheese." Bibz replied.

Oooooh. Likey likey.

"Is Zee up yet?" She asked me as I sat on one of the stools beside the counter.

"Nope.Tara is taking a shower. She'll be down in five." I said.

"It's already 8 and he is still not up? I don't know what I am going to do of this boy. "

"Good morning ladies!" I heard a voice behind me.

"Good morning chachu!"

"Good morning Rahul. " Bibz said in an angry voice.

"Why so angry and sulky sweetheart? What happened?" He asked as he sat down on the dining table opening the newspaper to read.

"Your son is what happened! It is 8 and he isn't up yet."

"He is a kid. He will learn."

"You will always take the side of your children. What will happen when he goes to university? You or I won't be there to wake him up."

And there it comes. The typical tendency of Indian mothers to think about the future rather than the present. Anyways. That was my uncle, Rahul Singhania. He is my father's younger brother and the CEO of Singhania Airlines.

"ZEESHAN SINGHANIA. YOU GET UP RIGHT NOW OR I WILL PERSONALLY COME UPSTAIRS AND SPANK YOU." Bibz's shout echoed throughout the house.

I heard footsteps running down the stairs.

"Yeah Mom. I am up. You don't need to come upstairs." Zee's voice came.

"Wow! ZEESHAN. You woke up so early! I am proud of you my bro!" I told him.

He rolled his eyes at me without replying.

"Now move your butt and go and brush your teeth and take a bath cause you are stinking."

"Good morning people of the house." Antara said.
