Chapter 16: What About Kaaebeer?

PARKER
***

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked her.

" Why are you so angry Parky-boo?" She said making me mad.

"Shut up and get over with whatever you have to say." Jesse said.

It was the great Regina Jansen.

" I am not talking to you. I am talking to Parker,my boyfriend."

"Ew. It would be so weird if you were dating!" Jesse exclaimed.

"For the millionth time Regina, both of us are never gonna happen." I said.

"Why?" She whined.

"For god's sake! You are our step sister!" I said.

"Its not like we have the same mother!"  She said.

"But we do have the same father, don't we?" I said.

" That makes all of us related by blood." Jesse said giving his goofy grin.

" Anyways, I came to invite both if you to my birthday party, this Sunday. Its gonna be lit." She said.

" It better be considering Dad's spending thousands on just your dress." I said.

"We won't be able to make it. We've got plans." Jesse said.

"You better cancel them."

"We can't." I said.

" Is it about that Indian girl who suddenly barged into our lives?"

"Yes. It is." I said.

"Tell her that I am going to make her life miserable."

"I'll tell her but she's got six of us protecting her." I said.

"Its your loss if you wanna be with her rather than me."

" I am glad."

"Ugh!" She said walking towards her car.

"She's gonna make a big deal about us not going." Jesse said.

"Let her. We've got a reason. I am not listening to Dad in this matter." I said.

"Why don't you tell her already?" He asked.

"Who?What?" I asked.

"Riya. That you like her."

"I don't!" I lied.

"Park, you can hide anything from anybody but not me." He said.

"I'll tell her when I know the time is right." I said entering my room.

"Night."

"Night."

I changed into a t-shirt and shorts, ready to go to sleep. But then I noticed something. It was her, singing. Her voice was so good. Riya singing a soft song, was basically a lullaby. You could fall asleep even on a day before a maths test. She was singing one of the songs she usually sang, one of her favourites, Havana.
