I went down stairs to meet Zach and saw my mother collapsed on the ground crying hysterically. "Mom!" I yelled. "What happened?" I was on my knees next to her in a second. She didn't stop wailing. "You son of a bitch!" she screamed in the air.
I put my hands on either side of her head and forced her to look in my eyes. "Mom, what's wrong?" I let go and fell to my butt realizing what it was. "That God-damned kidnapper killed your sister. Kayla," she couldn't finish.
I hugged her as tight as I could and let out all of my emotions and that night, all hell broke loose in our town.
