CHAPTER 6: CONFUSED FEELINGS

Gerald’s POV:

After a few weeks things have been tougher on him and Sarah and time has become an issue. Bea’s pregnancy has become quite sensitive lately and he found himself  dividing his time between Bea and his heavy work load.  He made it a point that Sarah knows everything but he can’t blame her to feel unnoticed at times. On the other hand, she is also busy with work and with her mother’s recovery, that he also felt rejected at times. They do communicate usually thru text or call but it is always limited.

One afternoon, he called Bea because he remembered that she has a scheduled check-up later that afternoon.

 Ring Ring Ring

Bea: Yes, Ge… She answered him

Gerald: Beys anong oras check-up mo?

Bea: 5 pm, why sunduin mo ako sa condo?

Gerald: I can’t leave the office nang maaga eh. I have an important board meeting.

Bea: Ah o sige ako na lang pupunta sa check up, nothing to worry naman regular check up lang yun.

Gerald: I’ll pick you up na lang sa clinic. Tapos I’ll treat you to dinner para makabawi ako.

Bea: Ok sige. Kailangan ba may dinner dinner pa?

Gerald: Sus, minsan lang naman eh.

Bea: Si Sarah?

Gerald: Busy sa work.  Hayaan mo sasabihin ko sa kanya after ng call na ito.

Bea: O sige na. Text mo na lang ako.

Gerald: O sige. Si baby ha ingatan mo.

Bea: Opo, sige na. Bye!

After the call with Bea, he decided to call Sarah and inform her of his plans. He picked up his mobile phone from his table and called her.

Ring Ring Ring

Sarah: Babe… She answered him with a hurried voice

Gerald: Busy? He asked her

Sarah: Medyo, Babe alam mo naman I have a project on the works with one of our clients diba.  Bakit ka na patawag? She asked him still in a hurried voice

Gerald: Babe, naman minsan na lang tayo magkausap at magkita nagmamadali ka pa. He said in an annoyed voice

Sarah: Babe naman I am in the middle of a meeting, bilisan mo na bakit ka na patawag? She asked him with also an annoyed voice

Gerald: Susunduin ko si Bea sa check up niya mamaya hindi ko kasi siya masasamahan kasi may meeting din ako and I am also busy pero I find time to call my girlfriend.  He told her with a somewhat angry voice.

Sarah: Oh yun lang ba? Mayroon pa? She answered him with an obvious pissed off voice

Gerald: I’ll take her to dinner after. Pinaalam ko lang sa iyo. He told her frustratingly.

Sarah: So pati dinner out niyo dapat alam ko pa. Ok sige, have fun sa dinner. I have to go. Bye. She told him and cut the call.

Gerald was pissed with her, she seems cold to him lately. He erased the thought and started to concentrate with his paper works.

Sarah’s POV:

After Gerald’s call, my mind was admittedly at a halt. Sometimes the situation we are in makes me want to be numb. Yes, I love him, pero minsan I wanted to tell myself to just stop and breath. When does life been so tiring? She silently asked herself when her companion in the meeting suddenly asked her
