CHAPTER 11: LOVE AT IT'S LOWEST

Gerald’s POV:

The past days was a blur for him, Bea gave birth to their daughter. He was busy checking on Bea and his daughter that he was not able to contact Sarah, for days now. His time was consumed by the frenzy of Bea’s child birth. 

He is in the hospital for days now, Bea had a minor complication after giving birth and that is the reason why they are still confined at the hospital. He made sure the Bea is well taken care of. Amidst the problem between them, Gerald still feels a soft spot for her, as she is the mother of his child.

He went home first at his condo to rest and to have some proper sleep. He left Bea with her helper, Lisa and just instructed her to call him if he is needed back in the hospital.

As he entered the condo, he was surprised to see Sarah, sitting at one his dining table’s chair, obviously waiting for him. When she heard him enter the condo, she looked up and waited for him to approach her. He immediately saw her empty eyes; she looked so thin and pale. He can’t believe that she looked this fragile, it was just weeks of not seeing each other and she changed a lot.

He approached her and said,

“Babe, you look so pale and fragile.” Are you sick? He asked her in a gentle and worried voice.

Tears started to fall from her eyes; she looked up at him and said,

Sarah: I was calling you this morming, your phone was off, I was told you did not report to work and you are not answering my text. She told him in a cold, unemotional voice.

Gerald: I am sorry I was caught up in a haze, Bea gave birth and she had minor complications going on. I was not able to charge my phone for days now. I am sorry I don’t mean to neglect you, I am just lost right now.

Gerald saw fury in Sarah’s eyes that he was taken aback.

Sarah: Lagi na lang si Bea, Gerald! Kesyo nanganak si Bea, kesyo hinalikan mo si Bea, si Bea, si Bea! Ako Gerald, inisip mo ba ako kung ano na nangyayari sa akin, sa atin? She told him in an angry voice that is almost shouting.

Gerald: Sarah, I am sorry, you know how much I Love you, naipit lang ako between you and Bea, hindi ko na rin alam paano ihandle ang sitwasyon. The space we both talked about even magnified that, I am sorry Sarah.

Sarah: Sorry? Sorry na ako pa pala ang nakakagulo sa buhay mo, na ang space na hiningi ko nakadagdag pa, pasensya na ha! You don’t even know what I went through these past days! She said in a disaapointed tone

Gerald: Bakit anong nangyari sa iyo? He worriedly asked her

Sarah: I had a pregnancy scare, Gerald and I faced it alone kasi busy ka kay Bea! She finally shouted at him

Gerald was stupefied and shocked that he was not able to process her words immediately.

Gerald: You mean, you thought your pregnant? Have you had a test already?

Sarah: I took a home pregnancy test 5 days ago, I called you but I was not able to say a word because I am too scared. You heard me crying at the other line, I thought you will check on me personally, but I was wrong. She said to him softly and bowed her head.

Gerald: I am sorry Sarah, I was about to go when I received the call that Bea is having her contractions already, that I rushed to her. He guiltily explained to her.

Sarah: And forgot about me. I was too scared that I don’t want myself to be checked until 2 days ago I was prompted to see a doctor to have it confirmed. I went to a doctor this afternoon that is the reason why I am contacting you this morning. She told him coldly.
