After the cancelled engagement and the break-up with Ian, she went back to her regular life as a daughter, sister and friend. She was thankful that Ian shared his life with her, her relationship with Ian taught her a lot and somewhat healed her. She is now happy being single woman. She continued working on the project with Gerald’s company. They resumed being working mates dealing with things professionally. Gerald gave her the space she needed as he knows that she also needs to grieve because of what happened with her relationship with Ian. She welcomed his gesture as she knows she needed it.

He and Lester seemed to clicked, and she's aware that they became close friends during and after the project though, she has no idea if their relationship went beyond friendship. She made sure not to probe as she knows her place. It was’nt her life and she has nothing to do with it even though she is now, sure that she still has feelings for him, but after everything that happened between them she now learned to just go with the flow. If they will be together then lucky them, God gave them another chance but if not, she will openly accept it and move on. Besides if he and Lester decided to enter a relationship she would be sure that Lester would love him, he is in good hands as her friend is one hell of a woman.

One morning, at the office she was surprised when Lester entered her room and asked for a few minutes to talk to her.

Sars, are you, busy? Can I have a few minutes with you? She asked her in a small voice while standing infront of her desk.

“Sure Lest, have a seat.” She told Lester in her usual friendly tone.

She then grabbed the chair infront of her desk and sat at it. She looked into her eyes and said,

Sars, are you aware that Ge, flew for the US, yesterday? Lester asked her nonchalantly.

“Nope, I was not able to talk to him after the project.” She told her friend with her usual noncommittal tone.

Ah, I thought you know. Her friend told her in a small voice.

“Why, Lest? Bakit sinasabi mo ito sa akin?” She asked her curiously.

Wala lang I just wanted you to know. He left because of business; he will be there for three months in lieu with the induction of the Shared Services Arm.

“Oh, I see.” She simply said to her friend and smiled.

Her friend just smiled back at her still looking at her eyes.

“Bakit Lest, don’t tell me you are missing him already?” She lightly teased her friend.

Lester just gave her a loud laugh and said,

Alam mo Sars, I don’t know how you became so dense. Her friend told her in a matter of fact tone.

She then, stood up from her seat and started to walk towards the door. When she reached the door, she again turned to her and said,

By the way Sars, Ge and I are just friends, a close one at that. But we will never be more than friends kasi sinagot ko na yung manliligaw ko si secret.

Lester then went out of her office leaving her stunned and with an open mouth.

She was so stunned that, she was not able to respond to what Lester had just said. She waited for a few seconds and dialed Lester's Local, knowing that she already arrived at her working desk.

“Hello, Lest sinong manliligaw ang sinagot mo bakit hindi ko alam, akala ko kayo ni Ge are dating?” She asked her rapidly at the other line.

She asked her friend confused.

Paano marami kang pinagdadaanan kaya hindi ko na nasabi sa iyo and about Ge, naku, Sars manhid ka kasi. Basta yun lang ang masasabi ko. Sige na bye.

She was still on the verge to ask her more questions but she already hanged the phone already.

“Hay, naku Lester, ikaw talaga kahit kalian.” She whisphered to herself with a light smile on her face and shook her head.

A/N: "You do not need to be loved, not at the cost of yourself. The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in a life is the relationship to the self. Of all the people you will know in a lifetime, you are the only one you will never lose." - Jo Courdert
