"Order for table number 4." The cook tells me and I nod.

I picked up the tray and balanced it in one hand, I walked over to the table that I was assigned, and served it to the customer.

"Here's your order sir, would you like anything else?" I ask the guy as cheerfully as I could despite my sudden headache.

"That's all thank you." The guy smiles as he takes a sip of his coffee.

It's tiring to work here in this small café, it has always been busy. In special occasions we would have to wear costumes, which I enjoyed.

I walk back over to the counter to return the tray, and relief washes over through me seeing it was past 8pm, I could finally go home. This headache's been killing me since this afternoon.

"Bye Cody." I tap his shoulder as he returns the money back to the cash register.

"Bye Therese, I'll walk with you home I'll be out in 5 minutes." He offers.

"Okay I'll be waiting outside." I wave. I enter our locker rooms in the back, to retrieve my bag. I really do have to get home I still have school tomorrow, I only work here as a part-time, 4 hours, four times a week which are during the weekdays and it really pays well.

Cody was the first guy I met here in this café shop, I came to learn he attends the same school as me but he's a year older. He's been really kind from the beginning, it's as if he's the kindest person I've met. I wish all boys at school aren't such trouble makers.

I exit the small café to be welcomed by the cold, harsh wind and shivered. Mentally slapping myself for wearing this black skirt and tank top today.

Just across the street is a night bar, where music could be heard from where I was from now. It's annoying that there would be some customers that enter the café shop from the bar and are badly drunk.

My thoughts were disturbed as the café door opens.

"Ready to go?" Cody asks as he adjust the strap of his bag on his shoulder.

"Yup." I cross my arms in front of my chest trying to fight away the cold.

"You cold?" Cody worriedly asks.

"A bit." I answer honestly.

"Here take my sweater." He offers.

"You'll be cold." I playfully pout at him causing his lips to form a smile.

"Here.." He pauses momentarily and places his arm over my shoulder. "Better?"

I nod in approval, his body against mine giving me warmth.

We walk past the night bar and disturbed by someone pushing us, separating me from Cody.

"I've been watching you." I feel a warm breath fan over my neck, whoever this was he was too close.

"Excuse me?" I back away.

"I said I've been watching you." He pushes strands of hair behind my ear, I could smell alcohol in his breath. He's just drunk and he doesn't know what he's saying.
