I walked to the gym room in my black Nike tank top and black leggings with my hair tied into a ponytail.

It had been quite a while since I visited the gym room and nothing much changed. I had been skipping to exercise and I decided that I have to get in shape and start a healthier lifestyle.

I started to do some stretching before running on the treadmill for an hour before I was drenching in sweat. Finally being satisfied with my flushing cheeks and my tired breathings, I decided to take a warm bath.

Dinner was served and everyone was already eating and engrossed in a conversation. Their attentions were shifted to me when I sheepishly approached my usual seat beside Jamie.

"Sorry, I got too caught up with my work and got lost track of time." I apologised but personally only to my father who was always strict on punctuality especially during dinner time, he claimed that dinner was the only time for the family to engage after a long day.

"I hope this is going to be your last time." Dad warned and although his tone sounded harmless, I knew there was some kind of seriousness and strictness attached in his tone which was hard for me to miss.

"What were you doing? You were late for dinner, Jess." Diane spoke up as she took a spoonful of lettuce from her usual salad before femininely taking a small bite of the grass.

I turned to look at her but before I could reply, Nadine beat me to it.

"She was at the gym, I saw her exercising." She finished with a smirk plastered on her round face.

"Oh and by the way, Jess-

"Don't call me Jess." I muttered. I hated it when she called my name, her tone sounded teasing whenever she called me by my nickname and it never failed to frustrate me.

"Are you still coping well with your eating disorder?" Nadine asked, her tone laced with fake curiousity as she batted her eyelashes innocently at me.

Everyone stopped eating and looked at me, they knew how sensitive I was about the subject and seeing their faces, it was like they were expecting me to shout at Nadine but before I could react, Diane gave out a dramatic gasp and put her hand on her heart as she looked at me with genuine worry.

"I'm so sorry, Jessie. Why didn't you tell me about it? After all the times I lectured you about eating-

"I'm fine, I got over it." I replied quickly, not wanting her to press on the subject.

"Oh dear." Diane sighed in an apologetic manner. I noticed the apparent guilt  in her blue eyes and it was a complete contrast to Nadine's smirking eyes.
