*omma means mom in Korean.

Jessie's POV

Who would have thought I would be in a flight, right next to Landon, flying to Seol?

Never me.

It all happened when Landon found out about my situation and surprisingly wanting to travel to Seol with me.

"My grandpa urged me to go with you when I mentioned about it. He said I should at least visit South Korea once in my life because his grandfather was a from Korea and he wanted me to at least learn about the interesting Korean culture." He explained to me before we were being greeted by a beautiful air attendant as we walked inside The Parks private jet.

Landon had insisted we use a private jet instead because said it was faster and there was no need for all the queing. I know, he could be such a diva sometimes.

The private jet was almost similar to my father's, and speaking of my father, he was disgruntled when I had shown him mom's text but he gave in when I argued that it had been two years since I had seen mom.

I was trying to warm up with a wool blanket when the plane set off until Landon insisted we watch a movie. The jet had one huge flat screen TV attached on the wall across from our seats and of course, there was a blu-ray player inside.

Watching movies was fine until I realised that it was a horror movie.

The air attendant handed us a bag of butter popcorn each and walked away, I was cowering in my seat as I tried to watch the movie but most of the time, my eyes were shut whenever weird noises from the movie was audible.

And when the weird noises was no longer audible, I returned by gaze to the TV and then BAM!

A hideous ghost, with blood streaming down her eyes were staring right at me from the screen. This time, I couldn't help but let out a loud shriek and pulled the blanket over my head. Landon on the other hand was laughing at me until the flight attendant came to me to ask if I was okay.

I gave her an unsure nod and thanked her before shooting daggers at Landon who was still unable to stop from laughing at me. I had a feeling this was karma.

I had laughed at Landon when he cried watching titanic and now, the tables were turned, turning me into a laughing stock. Even the flight attendant was trying to supress her smile when she had asked me if I was okay.

All thanks to the movie, I couldn't sleep as everytime I shut my eyes and tried to sleep, a picture of the ghost was staring at me which caused me to flinch everytime I shut my eyes. I gave up trying to sleep and grabbed a random magazine and read it.

"Having trouble sleeping?" The devil asked, the edge of his mouth lifting slightly, showing off his dimple.

I loved his dimple, I hated him.

"All thanks to you." I retorted and shot him a glare.

He stood up and walked to my direction before sitting down at my seat.

"Hey!" I complained but he made himself comfortable around my seat, the lack of space between us was making me uncomfortable.

He turned on the TV, stood up, put in another blueray disk before sitting at my seat, once again. The seat could fit two people maximum, but still, it made me feel uneasy.

"Care for another round of horror movie?" He turned to look at me, smirking this time.

I widened my eyes and turned to look at the TV, luckily it wasn't a horror movie, instead, it was an opening scene of The Notebook which I had watched for twenty times when I was a freshmen.

"I love this movie!" I exclaimed as I focused my gaze on the screen.

"What's the movie about?" He asked.

"You've never watched this before?" I turned to look at him, noticing the close proximity between us.

He shook his head at me although his eyes traveled on my lips. I looked away awkwardly and tried to focus on the movie. I fell asleep at the end of the movie, not before hearing the soft sniffles from Landon, as he softly cried and wiped his tears. Too tired to laugh at him, my heavy eyelids were shut after I smiled when I thought about the tables had turned again.

Landon's arm was around me as we entered the airport. After we got our passport stamped, a tall man who was wearing a suit held up a poster with 'JIWON' written all over it and I knew instantly it was for me.

I walked to the man as he greeted at both Landon and I in korean before requesting us to follow him while he grabbed both of our luggages and we were led to a black limousine.

I jumped inside to be greeted by an well-aged woman who wore a designer's sunglasses but I knew it was my mom.

"Omma!" I squeeled and went closer as I hugged her.

"You look younger, JiWon." She said in Korean as she hugged me back tightly before shifting her attention to the awkward looking boy sitting beside me.

She studied him before flashing him a smile and offered her hand for him to shake.

"Hello, Landon. I've heard a lot about you and it is finally nice to meet you." She said , her Korean accent evident as he shook her hand and gave her a smile.

"You can call me ommuni." She said which caused me to widen my eyes at her.

She insisted him calling her mother in law?

Landon was also quite surprised at her request because he knew a bit of Korean and I assumed he knew what it meant though he composed himself well and offered her his usual smile.

"It's nice to meet you, ommuni." He remarked which resulted to my mom spreading into a huge grin.

"I heard about the enggagement, congratulations both of you." She winked at us as she admired my sapphire engagement ring.

"I am so sorry for not being able to stand at the airport to greet you directly, the paparazzis were already gathered outside when I arrived so I called my driver instead." She said as she flashed us an apologetic smile.

It was becuase of her career as an actress at South Korea and she demanded to free her schedule for a week because she wanted to spend time with me in Seol.

When Landon was dropped off at the hotel, my mom excitedly turned to look at me. Her eyes skimmed at my facial features as she held my hand tightly.

"You look beautiful, JiWon. Bogosipda." She muttered, her voice gentle, full of sad emotions.

*bogosipda means I miss you.

"Hows JiMin?" She asked, her eyes full of genuine curiosity and the sadness was also evident in her eyes. She knew how Jamie reacted when she found out about the divorce and Jamie blamed mom for going away and for leaving us.

"She's ranked the first." I retorted and mom surprisingly shook her head at my sentence instead of feeling proud.

"That girl never have fun, she's always studying and missing out on the fun." She sighed, looking worried and dissapointed at the same time.

"Your father is crazy for scolding you for getting the fifth! That guy is so funny sometimes." She shook her head as she said it, letting out a humourless chuckle along the way.

"You are enough, dear."

I stayed silent because I missed having someone to comfort me about not being the perfect daughter and it was only my mom who had never really pressured me about being 'perfect' and persuaded me to accomplish many things without understanding me.

"Thank you, omma." I hugged her tightly as she patted my back in a reassuring manner.
