Chapter 19

Liam walked over to Alex's bed and for a fleeting moment he wanted to kiss her, but didn't. Now was not the time to think like that. Alex needed to eat. She was far to thin. The doctor told him she was 45 pounds underweight, especially being with child. His child he thought.

"Alex time to eat. It's your favorite." Liam said quietly, trying not to startle her awake. He held the pizza under her nose and she slowly rubbed her eyes.

"I thought I was dreaming about this night. I guess your real after all." Alex said in a whisper.

"No Alex you weren't. I'm glad it came out. I'm glad your back and your not running away from me again. I've been so worried and depressed since you vanished. Sure I dated, but I never realized what you meant to me, not until you were gone. You took a piece of me with you." Liam spoke quietly.

"I never meant to trap you Liam. You can still turn a blind eye to the baby. I'm sure Ashlynn would have a heart attack if she found out her boyfriend was having a baby with someone who was supposed to be a man." Alex said quietly.

"Oh knock it off! Her and I broke up a long time ago. I never see her except at work, but now that your back I am not going back. You and the baby are my priority. I mean it Alex I love you! Now eat! End of conversation." Liam spoke.

"Can I eat with everyone else? I don't want to eat in here." Alex said slowly as she sat up. She was afraid he'd pay attention to how much she ate. She's lost all interest in food these past months.

"Sure." Liam said.

Liam took the two plates and helped Alex out of the bed. She swayed a little, but gained her balance quickly. Liam and Alex walked out of her bedroom to the living room. No one expected to see Alex so soon. Everyone stopped talking and waited for Alex to be seated.

"Have you thought of any names for the baby Alex?" Sarah asked and Chase nodded.

"I don't know the baby's gender yet. So not really. I wanted to wait till I told Liam I was pregnant before I thought of names. I figured he had a right to choose the name if he wanted to be in his or hers life." Alex spoke quietly.

"Of course I'd want to be in their life! How could you think I wouldn't Alex?" Liam asked hurt.

"Well you said you never wanted to see the likes of me again for any reason Liam..." Alex said sadly.

"I was angry and hurt Alex. You can't blame me. For 6 months I thought I was turning gay." Liam said blushing.

Chase huffed. "You've never been a bright one Liam so you can't fully blame her Liam." Chase said.

"Well we know your not gay now. I feel like only good things can happen for now on." Sarah said.

"I've missed you guys so much!" Alex said crying.

"Don't cry Alex!!!! Did we do something wrong?" Liam asked panicked.

Aiden, Laura and Mitch laughed. "No she is hormonal because of the baby." Aiden chirped.

Liam let out the lung full of air he'd been holding. He watched Alex as she talked to everyone and watched how she picked at her food.

"Alex stop picking at your food and eat it." Liam spoke.

"I'm not that hungry." Alex said looking down ashamed. She's hardly eaten in the past 4 1/2 months. She mainly cooks for Aiden and the kids.

"She's always like this. Your going to have your hands full with this one." Aiden said.

"How did you find out you were pregnant Alex?" Chase asked curiously.

"I was cooking for Mitch and Laura and fainted in the kitchen. When I woke up in the hospital they told me." Alex said taking a small nibble of her pizza.

"Did you tell them about that Chris fella that keeps showing up Alex?" Aiden asked pissed off.

Liam tensed remembering all the things Alex had told him about him and the abuse. Liam was tensed.

Alex shook her head.

"Well I will! About a month ago I was dropping Mitch off so Alex could watch him while I worked a night shift and he had his filthy hands on her. She was on the ground holding her cheek. She had a bruise for a week. She still wont tell me what happened with him..." Aiden said furiously.

Liam was fuming! Chris put his hands on Alex. His Alex!

"Alex what did he want? Hasn't he caused you enough pain!!!!!!" Liam yelled.

"He came here out of no where. I thought he was Laura. She usually taps the door 5 times and waltz in. He did that and I was in the kitchen making lunch for the 4 of us. He came in spun me around and kissed me. I pulled away and slapped him as hard as I could. He's my damn brother-in-law. Sure we were engaged first, but he made his choice! Anyhow, He slapped me after telling me he loved me and made a mistake. Told me he still wanted me. Aiden and the kids came in while I was still on the floor. Aiden helped me up, but I didn't tell him of Chris's abuse. Only you knew....I guess Rachel didn't have enough money for him." Alex whispered.

"I'm going to fucking kill him!" Liam yelled, making Alex flinch and quiver in fear. She could hear the promise in his voice. Aiden nodding in agreement beside him.

"Does he know your pregnant Alex?" Liam asked.

"Yes. He said not for long." Alex said scared.

Liam swore and closed the distance between him and Alex. He knelt down and held her in his arms. He was afraid she'd disappear on him. Alex found comfort in his arms. Alex knew Chris was going to hurt her and the baby. That's partially why she didn't tell Liam in case she lost the baby. She always feared the worst when it came to Chris. He was trouble and everyone knew it.

Only this time she didn't know what kind of trouble Chris was bringing with him. Liam loved her and she him, but could their love outlast the likes of Chris.
