Mia joined me 10 minutes later and talked me into going with her to a pizza joint nearby. I argued that the car needed to head back to the Bighit building with the catalogue, but Mia knew that it wasn't important. She got the driver on her side and so I had no choice but to go with. I bit my lip in anxiousness. He's going to come by again.
I didn't know how to feel about Jimin. I was definitely attracted to the man, when I clearly shouldn't have been. But I didn't have much control over the situation, which drove me crazy so I consciously avoided thinking about him.
It was difficult, but I tried very, very hard.
I drank a smoothie while Mia shoved a slice of barbeque chicken in her petite mouth. She cleaned off the slice in under 10 seconds and just when I sighed in relief because we could head home, she stopped me and got another. Buying another slice for the driver, we headed back into the car and I dazed off. I snapped back into reality when we stopped in front of the Bighit building.
"Wait, why are we here? Why aren't we heading home?" I panicked. I was anxious, but I also wanted to see him. Ugh.
"You said we should send the stuff back first, so I thought we'll get this done and then head home. Why, is there a problem?" Mia asked, half out of the car.
"No, no, it's fine. I'm just tired. Have someone take the stuff and rush back," I ordered.
"Okay, 1 minute," Mia jogged into the building.
5 minutes later, 2 of the assistants emerged with Mia trailing behind them. She popped the trunk open and hopped back onto her seat beside me, whistling gleefully.
As soon as the trunk was pushed down, I ordered the car to move.
"Whoa, girl, chill. Was your smoothie not good?" Mia joked.
"It was fine, but I like my bed better," I snorted and looked out the window.
"Go straight home." 2 detours. I took 2 fucking detours.
When the car slowed down in front of my gate, I practically sprinted out before it halted, yelling "bye, thanks" over my shoulder. I heard Mia say "goodbye" and maybe "I'll see you tomorrow" but I couldn't be sure because I was already halfway across my lobby. Getting into the elevator, I glanced down at my phone. 12:33 AM. It's been over an hour since I left the venue. Fuck.
I scrambled for the keys in my bag, pulling them out as soon as the elevator sounded 'ding'. Stepping out and heading toward my apartment, I lifted my head up to be greeted by the sight of a very sexy Park Jimin leaning against my front door.
Except he was glaring.
At me.
"You're late, Tara," he shook his head and kicked off the door. "and I don't like waiting," he shoved his hands into his pockets, "but looks like I made an exception for you."
"I'll make it worth your while," the words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them. SHIT. My eyes widened at myself and I looked down to open the door.
His eyebrows shot up. "Oh, is that so?" He said pushing the door open and ushering me inside.
"I mean- with snacks and tea, I meant, of course," I stuttered out a nervous laugh, hopelessly.
"you sure know how to drive a man crazy, can't undo that."
