Chapter 17

"You think I can't kill her myself."

"That's not what I meant."

"I don't need Yuki's help, I don't need your help. I can take care of myself!" She flung her hands up and Emmi flew almost 30 feet back.

"Oh my gosh, what did I do?"

Ookami looked at her hands.

"She's a pureblood." Yuki said.

"No, she can't be." Zero said.

"I-I'm a pureblood?"

"Yes, only purebloods have that kind of power."

Emmi looked astonished.

"Wow sis, you're a pureblood. Never saw that coming."

"No Yuki. She can't be. I can't lose her like I lost you to Kaname. She's the only person that can make me smile again."

"Zero." Ookami said.

"I was never your's Zero!" Yuki yelled.

"Maybe not but I loved you and you never saw that!"

"Kaname was there for me. He saved me!"

"You saved me!"

"Can't you just forget it?"

"No Yuki, I can't because I still love you!"

Ookami just stared straight ahead. Tears were rushing down her cheeks.

"Ookami..."

Zero reached out to her.

She started running. She didn't stop till she got to the small creek only she knew about. She sobbed. She cut her arms, legs, side, any surface that was available. She had to get rid of these terrible emotions.

"Look what you've done!" Zero screamed.

"Zero. I'm sorry but you said that you still love Yuki. If you want to be her, stay here. I'm gonna go look for Ookami."

Emmi's eyes glowed.

Meanwhile, Ookami sat at the creek crying.

"Hey. Mine if I sit?"

Ookami turned around to see Emmi behind her.

"I don't want to see you. I want to be alone."

Emmi kind of laughed.

"Kami. You hate being alone. Please hear me out. I just want to....... "Don't talk to me!"

Emmi backed away.

"I thought we were sisters. Never to be separated. Always together. But it turns out, we're always separated, never together. Ookami, all I want to do is be there for you. Help you. But I guess I'm not wanted. I'm checking out of True Cross Academy today. That's what I wanted to say."

Emmi started walking away.

"Oh yeah, and Kami, I wanted you to know, I love you no matter what you say. Goodbye."

When Ookami got to the dorm, Emmi's things were gone. All her clothes, books, and personal stuff was gone.

"Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!" Ookami screamed.

"Nobody is there for me. No one cares. Zero doesn't care, Emmi doesn't care, Mom and Dad don't care. They say they care but they don't."

She started crying. But instead of water it was blood. She was hysterical. She started hitting the wall. Then, fire. Fire surrounded her. The whole dorm was burning. Smoke. It was suffocating.

"I-I can't br-br-breath!"

She fell to the ground, scratching at her throat. Someone opened the door and picked up Emmi.

"Ookami. You're so naive."

Aido picked up Ookami and started walking out the building.
