#79 "Fire"

Tammy was in a deep sleep above her own desk. When she opened her eyes, she saw her co-workers panicking around the office. She stood up, confused and bewildered. Afterward, she heard a loud announcement; “Fire! Fire!”

Immediately, she stood up and cleared her sleepy thoughts. Hearing that there was a fire really frightened her. We are talking about life here now!

Because she keen on her life more than anything, she didn’t consider her things and decided to run away as much as she could!

While running for her life, someone pushed her by mistake and she accidentally ends up in a room. Getting up while in daze, she observed her surroundings and found out where she is. However, she is aware that thinking about her whereabouts is not important right now!

“Ms. Tammy?” familiar voice of a man she heeded. She turned around and looked at the guy she was with on that room.

“Mr. Jisoo?!” she exclaimed, “What are you doing there? Come on! Let’s go! There is a fire!”

She clutched her hands around Jisoo’s arms and dragged him. Unfortunately, the door for that room closed and automatically locked from outside. With a dreadful expression, Tammy let go of Jisoo’s arm and she forcefully opened the door with all her might!

But she just wasted her energy. Having tears in her eyes, she looked at Jisoo and alleged: “I think, this is the day we will die.” Tammy sat on the ground and cried. While on the other side, Jisoo is just looking at her with a bored reaction.

“Why are you crying?” he asked.

Tammy lifted her sight. She doesn’t know if she will be happy that for the first time, Jisoo talked to him. She really liked him since trainee days in this insurance company. But, they never had some communication that will let them be close to each other. Now, Jisoo talked to her and that fact made her heart fluttered. However, thinking that this will be the last day of their life make Tammy whimpered.

“Soon, we will burn by the fire and we will never see our families again,” she stood up and walks towards him, “We will die!” then she cried again.

Knowing that you are going to die in this moment is very terrifying! Yet, Jisoo looks calmed and also, just sitting at the corner.

“Yah! I know that you are too cool! But do you choose to be cool until the day you die?!” Tammy yelled at him.

Jisoo laughed and nodded, “Yes, I choose be cool until I die.”

Tammy jaw’s opened as she heard his weird statement.

“Are you a psychopath?!” she asked.

“What?”

“Huh,” she grabbed her own hair, “Why do I end up liking a psychopath?!”

“Eh? A-Are you saying that you like me?” Jisoo pointed himself.

“Yes! I do! We are going to die anyway! I love you! Ever since the day I saw you, I fell in love! Now I am ready to die!” she cupped Jisoo’s cheeks and stared at him, “I love you!”

“W-Wait, what are you—“ Jisoo stopped.

Why? Tammy kissed his lips, leaving him speechless and shocked.

“I am so sorry,” Tammy said when she parted her lips with him. She cried, cried, cried and cried! Until, someone opened the door and saw them together.

“Oh? Were you locked there?” Mr. Park asked over. The two of them looked at him.

Slowly, Tammy stood up and clear her thoughts. “W-What is this?” she confusingly asked.

“Aigoo. You two didn’t participate in our company fire drill weren’t you?”

Fire drill? Tammy looked at Jisoo again who is currently laughing hard. With her reddened face, Tammy run away full of embarrassment.

But someone grabbed her arms and it was Jisoo.

“Don’t take it back,” he said.

“W-What?!” stuttering she asked, trying to regain her last pride.

“When you say that you liked me, don’t take it back okay?”
