Emma’s Point of View
I walk into my light pink and white floral room and jump onto my light pink bed, with white pillows. I lay down so my feet are by my pillows, and begin to scroll through my phone to find Marks number. When I finally find it I smile as I click it and listen to the ring on the other end. After a few rings Mark finally picks up.
“Hello?” He asks, and I smile like an idiot.
“H-Hey Mark! It’s Emma. Ruby told me you called earlier.” I state, and I hear some things move around in the background on Marks end.
“Yeah. I just wanted to know if you were free tomorrow afternoon and, I don’t know, wanted to see a movie?” He asks, and my smile grows even bigger.
“I’d love too! But hey, do you mind if Ruby comes? She’s a total nerd when it comes to movies. She doesn’t have to see the same one as us, but I at least want to take her.” I state, and after a few minutes of silence, I finally hear Mark answer.
“Yeah, that’s cool. I don’t mind. As long as I’m with you, that’s all that matters.” He says sweetly, and it takes everything in my power not to just explode of happiness.
“Alright, so it’s a date.” I state.
“I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye.” Mark states his goodbye.
“Bye Mark. I can’t wait for tomorrow.” I say with all honesty, and I can practically hear Mark smiling on the other end.
“I can’t either. Goodnight Emma. Sweet dreams.” He says adorably, and I blush slightly.
“You too.” I say, and with that, the conversation was over just as quickly as it had started.
I hop off of my bed, and sprint up the steps, taking two at a time and run over to Ruby’s room. I knock on the door a few times, but when I get no answer I just open the door and see Emma sitting on her purple and red striped bed. Her walls were littered with the same colored stripes, and she only had a dim light on. Her face was lit up with the screen of her laptop, and her purple ‘Beats’ covered her ears.
After a few minutes of just standing in the doorway, Ruby finally notices me and shuts her laptop, taking her headphones off of her ears.
“What’s up, Buttercup?” She asks me, and I smile at her.
“Guess what!” I practically scream at her.
“Let me guess, you’re going on another date with Mark?” She asks, and I smile even bigger.
“Yes! But… You’re coming with us! We’re going to the movies, and I know how you love movies…” I trail off, and Ruby smiles at me.
“Alrighty. Thank you for inviting me.” She says, and I just wave my hand.
“Don’t even worry about it. Well, I’m going to bed. I wanna get my sleep so I look good for Mark.” I state, walking towards the door.
“I’m gonna watch a few more videos and then go to bed, because I don’t have to look good for anyone!” Ruby states, and I giggle.
“Unless you find a cute guy!” I state as I walk out the door. I hear Ruby mumble something, but don’t think much of it.
I head back down to my room and put on a white tank top and a pink pair of fuzzy pants before hopping into my bed and snuggling into the cool cover. I close my eyes and soon drift into a sweet, deep sleep.
When I awoke that morning I heard the loud beep of my phone, signaling that I had a text message. It took my sleep filled eyes a few minutes to adjust to the bright light coming from my window, but when they did, I unlocked my iPhone and checked my messages.
