Emma’s Point of View

As I was walking towards the front door of the house, I saw Mark walking out, holding something in his hand, and he looked pretty upset.

“Hey, Mark, is everything ok?” I ask, and he just looks at me, no emotion other than sadness present on his face.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” He says, walking over to his car, and driving away.

Huh, I wonder what happened…

“Rue, I’m home.” I state, and I see that she’s not on the couch, where she would normally be.  I set my bag down and walk up the stairs to her room.

“Rue, honey, you ok?” I ask through the door, and I hear soft sniffling come from the other end.

“Y-Yeah… I’m fine.” She says, but I’m not convinced.

“Ruby, honey, I know you’re not okay. Can I come in? Please?” I beg, knowing that Ruby was hurting.

“Y-Yeah.” She sniffles, and I open the door, seeing Ruby sitting on her bed. Her eyes are red and puffy, and tears are running down her face.

“Ruby, what happened? Talk to me.” I say, sitting down on the end of the bed.

“M-Mark and I… We fought.” She says, and I’m slightly confused.

“Ohh, umm ok. Why is that upsetting?” I ask, and more tears run down her face.

“Nothing. You… You wouldn’t understand.” She says, making me slightly more puzzled.

“Oh… Ok. Well, uh, if you need me, I’ll be downstairs if you need me, ok?” I say, and she nods her head. I smile before walking out the door.

I walk back down to the living room, and plop down on the couch, letting my hair down from its ponytail, which was starting to give me a headache.

I turn on the TV, and start to watch some Teen Wolf before my head really starts to ache, so I walk over to the kitchen to see if we had any aspirin.

When I walked in, I saw a pot of water on the cool stove, and decided to just dump it down the sink, figuring that no one was going to be using it.

I wonder through the kitchen, and eventually find some aspirin, taking two from the bottle and taking them one at a time.

After taking the pills, I decide to take a nap, since, well, I don’t know. Naps are nice, ok?

I don’t even change out of my work outfit, which was a pair of jeans and a white button up shirt. I just climb into bed, getting comfortable as sleep begins to take over me. As I fall asleep, my mind continued to wonder about Mark and Ruby, so I decide to text Mark before I slept.

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket, and send him a quick text.

Emma: Hey Mark. What happened between you and Ruby?

I hit send and set the phone down next to me, falling asleep before I could hear if he answered me.

I awoke to the sound of my phone buzzing next to me. I slowly open my eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them before checking my phone to see who had texted me, and to see how long I had slept.

It was seven thirty, which means I had been sleeping for about three hours.

“Huh, I didn’t think I was that tired.” I say to myself as I see who had texted me, and I see it’s from Mark.

Mark: Hey, sorry it took me forever to respond. But, it doesn’t matter.

I quickly text back.

Emma: What the hell do you mean ‘It doesn’t matter’? My best friend is upset because you two were fighting, and I want to know why.

It doesn’t take long for Mark to reply.

Mark: Because she lied to me, ok? She knew about something that I should have known about a long time ago…

Emma: And what was that?

I sit in my bed, anxiously waiting for the response.

Mark: Well, I’m kind of a famous YouTuber. I play video games for a living, and have over a million people who watch what I do.

I giggle slightly as I respond.

Emma: Yeah, I knew that too. I saw her watching your videos one day.

Mark: Did you know about the tattoo?

Emma: Yes, Mark. I knew about the tattoo.

It takes Mark a while to respond, but he finally does.

Mark: I guess I did overreact. Do you think I can come over and apologize?

Emma: Not tonight. I think you’ve both had enough drama for the night. Maybe wait a few days. Let Ruby get back to normal for a little bit, ok?

Mark: Ok… Thank you.

Emma: No problem. Now if I were you, I’d upload a video or go to bed. I think we’re all done with today.

Mark: Yeah. Thank you, again. Goodnight.

Emma: Night.

And with that I laid back in bed and thought for a long time. I thought about my relationship with Ruby, and my relationship with Mark. Their relationship. Life. Just kind of everything that came to mind. And after a while, I drifted off into a nice, long, deep sleep.

A/N

Hi there Ladies and Gents. Sorry the chapter is shorter than usual. I promise to have longer, better ones up soon (Heh, that can be taken two ways XD). Anyway, enough with my dirty jokes. I'm tired, and Mark's Octodad playlist isn't going to watch itself!

Night my Lovelies.

Stay Classy Ladies and Gents.
