"Determined a name yet?" Rin erupts, her face now pearl clean, hair straight and perfect, wounds sealed and completely recovered it seems.
"Paracorus," Phoenix clears his throat, "In the language of the Earth, it means 'Fiery Defender," He explains curtly, eyes lit with the glow from his hands which consistently sinks evenly though Blaze. Now I worry if Blaze has gone into some kind of coma or extreme shock. He looks at peace right now, as though...as though he is simply asleep, not in a gruesome battle for the life he was granted.
Aegis joins in too, and they together manage to mend him further. Does this sort of concentration not take any toll on Luzumi? Or are they just hiding it? Maybe they have a lot of endurance for it now? Who knows.
Rin of course continues conversation, gleeful yet wise with understanding of the situation, I imagine again she has chosen to accept the peril and the risk of such loss, the consequences that could befall us, she faces it all. Against this, she is also trying to keep the black clouds of hail from our minds, because, sometimes, the best medicine, is to either see a smile, or show one yourself. Dark waves of suffocating oil lap at the white sands of my island, my mind, I can tell is is at everyone's.
Suddenly I am angry with myself.
We were going down that hill, how could I have missed him, ignored him, how could I have let this happen? And now, here I sit, unable to do a single thing to try and mend my mistakes at all.
"You can't mend a mistake, you can only leap the abyss, build a bridge, fall into it, or stay on one side forever. What is done is done, you accept it, move on, and try better next time, you learn and you grow from this." Aegis whispers in my ear, and I can't help wonder if he could be leaving out any options; fall, leap, cross, or stay. What is the difference between building the bridge to cross, and leaping? What leads to what? Are these both always an option?
Perhaps, you simply must leap in a time of need, and maybe, you do fall and you shatter, but would that not strengthen you as you climb the way back up?
Again and again, it seems Aegis can just read my mind so clearly and with such ease. No one else seems to have noticed that he said anything to me at all, but my gears turn with the new oil to process and stir. How does he do that?
"Aegis?" I am prepared to receive answers about Kol now.
"Kol?" He guesses, and of course is accurate.
"Uh, yeah, I want some answers." I put simply, as I am not one to meaninglessly exchange words as Rin throws hers about without a second thought. Naive or thoughtful I do not know.
"Of course, I cannot guarantee complete answers to everything, sometimes I will have none, but I'll do my best." He concedes softly, "The Mortubrae are the only beast in existence that have the capability to trap and use a human soul, this is important to remember. Before I go on, you must inform me about the Key you bear which appears to be so precious and sacred to you." Blunt as always, I know he is aware of how blunt he is, but to put it cleanly, he does not care.
"Oh, um, okay...well it has a wizard named Oswald previously known as Apollo, but you already knew that. He is the Key to what holds Siron's soul in the sword and locks away his dark aura, but if I remember correctly you knew that already too. He has a strong and quite direct connection to Siron upheld and straightened by the flame of the staff Hester carries." This is the extent of my knowledge so I stop and wait as a cool wind dances gently across the Earth's new white skin.
"Okay, I think that the connection to Siron clashed with Kol and 'awoke' him into anger and the urge to kill him, but I also must believe that Oswald allowed Kol to see and feel this, otherwise it wouldn't have happened. When things got to a serious point where it appeared many people were about to be slaughtered, Kol reacted and Oswald probably communicated with him, or it is possible Oswald could not communicate with Kol for one reason or another, so he forced a kind of hysterical hallucination that made the Mortubrae connected directly to Siron. The red line that came to your skin was a vein created in order to allow contact of sorts, so Oswald could hear and understand Kol and know how to handle him. Now Kol was either convinced in a hallucination or decided to save the lives with clear sight and released the only power he now has, or better put, for now is the only power he knows how to use." Aegis begins.
"I think they had a very clear connection and had discussion." I input to make things easier, and Aegis nods, no questions asked; knowing him he is already at full knowledge of it all.
"I would agree it's safe to say that Oswald created the red vein and they made direct contact, so Kol is now fully aware of the Key's purpose and of all the wizards and their roles. They then agreed to assist one another and save everyone then, meaning Kol has still somehow managed to stay away from the greed of anger and still has a clean mind. The butterfly appeared multiple times and stayed about as you used the sword, it came from the Key, probably some wizard magic. If I had to guess I'd say to have a better view and to share the view with Kol. I also must assume you heard the voice of people and 'demons' in your head, especially as the aura broke free, those are form the aura surely."
