"So why exactly are you telling us this much?" I am genuinely suspicious of this and cannot accept any words from her mouth right now, she hurt Rin, no, she tore Rin apart and there's nothing I can do about it. The frustration knots a ball of hatred and annoyance within me.
"Because it's not all that important and I suppose it will make it even easier to kill you," Hester's head twists in an inhuman way.
"One last question, are you an Imzana." she glares at me before breaking out into an odd hysterical cackle.
"YOU WOULD DARE PUT ME ON SUCH A LOW LEVEL!?" her smile grows and the wrinkles on her face are disturbing.
Her nails glint in the moonlight, suddenly long and sharp as though she now has ten daggers at her use. There's no way I can turn and see Rin's face at this or the expression she might wear, nor do or can I imagine such, as I must now fight to keep us both alive clearly. Hester lunges at me and shoots her arm forward in an attempt to stab me, but I dodge with only a scratch on my side not worth a notice. Kol shines a blue sheen I have not seen before, the handle, however, is red and I feel an urge of lustful murderous intent but something keeps it at a bearable level.
Soon the blue fades as my anger grows and self-frustration with it. This, this is all I can do to offer any help to Rin, so I will put all I have into it, to save my so dear sister from the disgrace of the new Hesters' face.
Hester dodges when I extend the sword, however, she has the slightest imbalance so I swipe a leg from under her and shove her shoulder to topple her to the ground. I then have no choice but to grip her wrists and hold them down, keeping Kol safely in one of them though. Hester thrashes and screams, her knees jab at my spine and voice breaks my ears. No way is this helpful, it just drains me, I must make a move now. With this, I pull the hand free of Kol over harshly to grip broth wrists in my one hand and take the very momentary opportunity to stab at her neck.
The blade misses as I hear her neck give a crack and it snaps out of the way.
"What the hell," I whisper and leap off terrified because I have no idea what it is I am up against or of its weaknesses. How do I fight this?
Hester takes no time to insanely twist and swipe at me once more with her extended nail and barely I once more manage to dodge. I make use of the dodge by jumping right towards her and aiming for her stomach, but she manages to awkwardly redirect the blade from her with her knee and I am taken aback.
But I regain footing to turn right in time as her nails slice cleanly into the dirt. No. I must do this. She hurt Rin, and that is not going to fly with me. No way. Hester hurt her in the worst way she could find. Right then I shove off the ground with all my might, shooting out dirt behind me and my sword nicks her thigh enough to cause pain to Hester. I then shoot back and bring the blade across her Achilles, she yelps, though the nails run their way through my hands I do not stop as they remove themselves swiftly.
Hester hisses at me and her eyes narrow but reach into my mind with an icy shadow, gripping to all my fears and the darkness of my mind. This is bad. I'm taken over by this bloodlust, I can't...I can't see! What is happening! Am I blind!? Where am I?!
Everything is completely dark so I try to move my arms and break the bond and try to jab at her. Desperation is deep and overwhelming even, my heart rate increases ever rapidly, pounding and throbbing. Don't freak out, calm down, I repeat to myself consistently.
"RIN NO! DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HER YOU MONSTER! DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HER!" I scream so loud my vocal cords ache and I can feel them stinging, the notes crackle with my blind desperation and the swinging of my blade. My voice goes deep and solid, undeniable, so rock solid and utterly firm. "Don't you dare, hurt her." I hold my body steady and stand strong and sure even in my blindness.
BANG. My brothers face, blood rivers spewing from his wide mouth, bloodshot and wide eyes, blood streaming from them too, his voice mangled and hoarse. "NO STOP THIS! GO AWAY GO AWAY! PLEASE STOP THIS!" I break and scream, clenching my jaw.
Get yourself together Claire. Come on! It's not real, it's not real! You don't have time for this shit or Rin will surely die! Get your shit together! I take my place again and wash away all the images my mind throws at me in cruelty.
Notice the air, notice the sounds, notice the ground beneath your feet and your ears. All is not lost. I get my breathing under control at last and pay close attention to everything around me, extremely aware now. I can hear their voices, and after a few more sentences from Hester, I have her pinpointed and shoot forward with every ounce I can hold, the blade goes through flesh and a shout echoes but I cannot yet decipher it.
Then my vision returns to show me the scene of someone on their knees before me. It's Rin...blood gushes out of her wound and her eyes grow duller and duller by the second, her eyes still wide in shock, my hands drop the sword, feeling it the evilest thing to ever touch. Rin falls and the thump of her body echoes in the forest.
"AEGIS! PHOENIX! SOMEONE! ANYONE! PLEASE SAVE HER! TAKE ME INSTEAD! TAKE ME! PLEASE, NOT HER!" I screech "What have I done?" I whisper in dread, the feeling a dead cold in me stirs wildly and suddenly I am shaking and I am utterly horrified.
"Claire? What are you doing?" I hear Rin's voice and am completely confused because it...
