"Wanna try sparring?" Gen asks, sounding still more like Nichele, my old teacher.

"Are you sure?" I hesitate before responding, deep down I want to test these weapons out so desperately, yet don't want to come off as rude or arrogant.

"Which weapon of these do you prefer? You are clearly one who is inspired by such works of art," this woman can either read me all too well, I am being too obvious, or somehow, it is Nichele.

"Uh, hm. I haven't used a dagger in a long time, I should probably practice more with swords though since we recently obtained Kol..." I decide and take the swords, feeling highly honored and gazing at the blades with great respect. These tools can either save many lives or take many lives. They give me such a power I can't achieve on my own, a power that perhaps should not exist or be available to any human, to take another human life.

"This doesn't need to be our first and last time sparring you know," her smile is warm and confident, exactly like hers...I'll be sure whether or not it is Nichele after we spar, then I must ask.

"Alright," if it is her, she will be able to experience my talent and growth, the darkest side of me, where my face mends with shadow, my eyes intensify, my mind focuses and directs all it's deep and dark energy at the target. How my breath settles, how my feet become hard yet steps tender, how my body moves like a snake.

Gen holds the daggers as any professional, the points facing the ground, her arms perfectly held about her to avoid any open areas, this is until she shifts oddly, providing an ever so slight opening. I feel my mind switch to the other side of me, my mind seeing every subtle detail, senses heightened dangerously, this is when I usually know someone is going to die. Right here and now. My eyes appear dull to my opponents, I know this because I once saw myself in this mindset, it scared the shits out of me.

I must consider she made such a slight error to draw me in though, as a trap, thus, it is too much of a risk to take until later. My arms grip the sword in a sure certainty, on my toes, feeling light and detached from gravity. The swords become part of me, my heart and soul, binding with my being.

"Ready?" Gen checks and I nod, bending my knees and widening my stance. It is now that this starts.

She does not move in first, but neither do I. Better give her a taste to see her style and ways, however, I know she will not reveal her skills unless she must, as any smart professional. I'll kill you...you will cry...and I will watch...your family will cry...you will hurt...you will DIE. NO! Stop! I shake it all away. It is a good thing to know even if I get out of control, Gen can handle herself well enough, plus the others are near enough to pin me down.

Despite the tragedies and regret that mind has caused, it is inevitable, I can't just erase something that has been such a part of me.

This is all that matters. Slaying this being. Slaying this person with a mind and emotions. Make it quick. Make it simple. Make it easy. Focus now. Concentrate all you have on this mission. Do or die.

Gen appears surprised and taken by my determined, dark and mysterious face, the darkness radiating from me, the heat. I have created a monster. I believe those were her thoughts. However, this does not throw me off. I make a few jabs at her, then decide to focus my blows slightly to one side, leading her to false and subconscious conclusions. I then leap with the wind to the left, leap, shove off the truck of a tree hard, flying at her, yet still with control.

She blocks the swirl of hits and I learn she is just as agile and light on her feet. She tries to take advantage of my momentary and seeming time where I am about to land, swiping at me with a blazing heat. It is easy to block the flurry of sharp silver for me. I dive in, and right as she believes me to be a fool, taking the bait, I pivot and twist, slashing the blades to wound her lightly on her other side, restraining myself greatly.

Gen comes at me with one of her daggers I block,  but she just uses the force and spins while ducking to lower herself below my blocking blade. However, I don't block with two blades unless need be, I immediately spot this and dodge, slashing for her back as she might stagger now. Gen leaps over it and flashes suddenly with enormous speed behind me, I hear her feet and gain momentum and power before shooting up into the tree branches above.

My opponent is surprised before following me. The leaves are a proper camo and guard any noise with the leaves, she spots me before following, as she springs up, I take the risk, loving and cruelly craving the tingle of such fierce adrenaline I have so lacked for long, the thrill of the risk, putting your life on the line, even though you know you don't need to. And this choice will lack consequence since it is a mere sparring match.

It puts her at a disadvantage as I fall into her head on. My blades are longer, so she is forced to block with both her daggers, with this I hook the ends of my swords under her arms carrying her daggers, forcing myself down, powering up a giant kick. My foot and leg use the gravity for my strength, it gets her right in the gut. She flies back and hits the truck, shaking the tree.

I am upon her immediately, pinning her against the trunk, thrusting a hand at her solar plexus, but not with too much force as to be lethal, yet it will hurt like hell. She recovers, fast enough to to get my forearm as I start to leap away. Gen falls and gets right back up again a fire roaring in her eyes as the dark and tumbling flames throttle in my heart.

Gen uses the trunk for her advantage, shoving off the root crevass and deciding to use a speed I cannot top, so my best bet it to predict her movements. One dagger chips my cheek, I dodge the other merely because I predicted she would next aim for my legs, guessing her position, I grab the back of her shirt and throw her to the ground.

Her speed also means she has less balance and weight to prevent this. She gasps and struggles, to my surprise kicking my feet away. Aware of my danger, I try leaping up again, yet she is still able to inflict few wounds on my shoulders and legs. Because of this new threat, my dark side decides she is capable of handling me at a higher intensity, and I start to crumble into it, allowing it to awaken more.

With the end of my swords handle, I jab her in the side, unable to gain the mobility to use to blade end. Gen gets up and so do I, she charges and dodges as predicted, I hold her one dagger useless above our heads and the other blocked at the level of our throats, glaring directly into the depths of each other's eyes. Mine are hard and cold, hers are fierce with flame, my flames are cold and dark, hers are hot and burning, raging reds.

We have had no chances yet wherein a real fight we could have killed the other. When I had her pinned on the trunk, she would have severely injured me had I not dodged. It is clear we both now realize we can fight at even higher levels.
