Shin-ah X Reader
My name is (Y/N) and I am a Wolf Shifter. For years I have been the loyal companion of Princess Yona and am bound...
What we saw next was truly horrifying. A figure had impaled the king with a sword, no doubt it was a fatal wound. I let out a deafening growl, catching the unknown figure's attention. With the scent of blood masking their scent, I had no clue who this person was.
"FATHER!" Yona screamed, running to her fathers aid as he fell lifeless on the floor, crimson blood pooling around him.
I kept my (E/C) eyes locked on to the figure, as they stepped into the light and recognition hit Yona and I in an instant.
'I knew you were not to be trusted... Soo-Won' I snarled loudly.

Meanwhile, Hak's POV
I was patrolling an area of the palace, when I realised it was awfully quiet.
"General Hak!" I turned around to see Min-Soo heading my way. He gave me a drink of what looks like alcohol.
"Min-Soo that's so nice of you" I said, glad for a drink.
"But will it be alright if you're not by princess Yona's side?" He asked with slight concern.
"Yeah. I'm unrefined and stupid" I replied, quoting the princesses words. "Lord Soo-Won is accompanying the princess right now".
"Then the princess' feelings have reached Lord Soo-Won?" He questioned curiously.
"I don't know, but it's only a matter of time" I replied.
"General Hak, you understand those two really well, don't you?" He asked absentmindedly.
"It's because... I've watched them since I was a kid" I said drifting into thought. "I want them to be happy... those two... how should I put it..."

(Y/N) POV (Wolf Form)
I watched as realisation hit Yona in a painful slow way.
"S... Soo-Won... father... is... hurry... call a doctor" She stuttered out, refusing to accept the truth.
"Emperor Il's eyes will never open again... I killed him" Soo-Won stated emotionless. I growled angrily at his response and lack of remorse.
"W...What are... you saying...?" Yona's voice shook. "Y...You... would never do... something like that"
"You don't know... I... have lived for this day" he said coldly.
"Wh...Why...? Father... cared for you since you were a child" Yona said in confusion.
"That's right. I loved Emperor Il, too" he said. "Even though people murmured that he was a coward who feared strife... that's what made Emperor Il so kind... but...I was wrong"
I growled in anger. He turned to me glaring in a way that told me to let him finish. I snarled, but allowed him to continue, my focus on him cautiously.
"My father, Yu-Hon... do you you remember him?" Yona's eyes widened, signalling that she did remember. "Ever since my father was a boy, he was incredibly fierce, courageous and intelligent. He later grew up to be the champion that always led our troops to victory. Everyone without a doubt was hoping... that my father would become their next king. I was so wrong. Instead..."
He looked up, making sure she was listening and then continued.
"Ten years ago, the late Emperor chose not my father to be King, but his little brother Il. Nobody could understand why. Normally the oldest brother succeeds the throne. So why was the weaker, younger brother chosen instead? But my father just smiled and said..."
~Flashback~
"The throne is no big deal to me. I'll continue to fight on the front lines... to protect my brother and the people"
~End of Flashback~
"I was proud to have a father like that. And... I loved and respected him greatly. I thought one day... I would stand alongside my father on the battlefield... and give my life for my father's sake. But..."
I shifted in annoyance as he droned on.
'All this time he's been talking we could have escaped to safety, but nooo, we have to sit and listen to story time'
"After Emperor Il succeeded the crown... he killed Yu-Hon, his own brother" he finished.
'Well this is interesting'
"THAT CAN'T BE! UNCLE DIED BECAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT...!" Yona exclaimed.
"That's what it looked like on the surface, huh? But my father died by being stabbed with a sword by Emperor Il... do you understand?" He looked her directly in the eyes. "Emperor Il, who was supposed to hate weapons and evaded strife... killed my father with a sword. Princess Yona...that is why... I have lived for this day... for ten years" he gave a deathly stare.
"I have avenged my father, and as the one who inherited my father's dying wish, I... will become this nation's King" he finally finished his speech.
'Does this guy not know when to shut up?'
"I didn't expect you to be awake this late at night. I heard very few are allowed to come into his majesty's room. So why... did you come? Princess Yona" he asked suspiciously.
"I wanted... to tell him... I... can't forget about Soo-Won. I wanted... to tell... father that-" she was cut off by someone barging in.
