(Small chapter, but there's an important author's note at the end that I'm sure a lot of you will love😉)
Previously on The Wolf Shifter's Love:
"So, where's Thunder Beast? I thought he would come" Yoon asks, breaking the tension I was unaware of.
"Hak is an important member of our fighting force. So I, who can jump, and Shin-ah, who can see in the dark, came instead" Jae-ha informs.
"I bet he and Kija were not happy with that decision" I smirk. "By the way, Jae-ha..."
"Hmm?" He looks towards me.
"Thanks... for saving me back there... and I'm sorry for... you know, beating you up" I say, not making eye contact.
His eyes widen as he stares at me in disbelief.
"You're welcome, beautiful" he smirks, regaining his composure.
"Don't push it" I growl.
He raises his hands in mock surrender with a chuckle.
Y/N POV
Yona, Yoon and I watch in hiding, as the guys fight the oncoming attackers. They insisted that I 'stay and protect the two'. It's obvious that they just don't want me in the fight.
"Why can't I fight?" I pout.
"Isn't it obvious? They're protecting you" Yoon says in a 'duh' tone.
"I don't need protection! I'm an Alpha for crying out loud!" I argue.
"And how many times has said Alpha been injured on this journey?" He points out with a smirk.
"..."
"Exactly" he smiles in triumph.
"Whatever" I scowl at him.
The guys push the men back enough so that they continue the fight on the other boat, leaving the boat we are on clear and safe.
"They're having a hard time fighting the mercenaries from the next boat. I wonder where Kum-ji is? It's wrong to think he's nearby his cargo. If he's not on this boat, he'll be hiding on a boat that has a lot of mercenaries protecting it" Yoon mumbles to himself, but I hear him loud and clear.
"If what you're saying is true, then he's on the boat next to us, isn't he?" I say, noticing the large amount of men attacking from that boat.
"Right. Jae-ha! Shin-ah! Vita! It's that boat! Kum-ji is probably in the hold of that boat!" Yoon informs. "Yona! Help us tie up the officers".
Yoon runs over to the now freed women to help them.
"Yona?" I question, as she stares with a dark look.
"I can't let him get away with this" she says with clenched fists.
"Then don't let him" I smirk.
I shift into my Wolf, gesturing for her to get on my back. She complied and I pick up a bow and arrow in my jaws. I jump from my spot, landing on a higher area of the boat. I spot Kum-ji escaping on a small boat. She climbs off my back and I shift, handing her the weapon.
"He's on that boat" I say, pointing into the distance.
She nods and aims the weapon with an emotionless look. We watch as Kum-ji shoots Jae-ha from the sky, aiming his bow a second time to kill. However, the man stops and looks in our direction, feeling Yona's unwavering aura. She releases her hold on the bow string, sending the arrow directly into Kum-ji's chest. He falls into the ocean with a satisfying splash.
"Bullseye" I smirk.
Our allies look on in shock as she lowers the bow. I place a hand on her shoulder and we gaze out into the ocean. The sun rises for a new day, a day free from Kum-ji's control.
