Chapter 26

(A/N: I never leave you guys with cliffhangers for too long because I'm always too excited to write the next chapter 😂)

Previously on The Wolf Shifter's Love:

I run towards the two, successfully pushing them out of the way as she lashes out in her leopard form. However, I was not as successful, as her claws tear through my flesh, earning a blood curdling howl from me. She smirks as best she can in her feline form and flees into the woods. At this point I am breathing heavily, blood pouring from my side.

"(Y/N)!" I hear Shin-ah yell. Unable to hold my wolf form any longer, I shift back. I start to collapse, but Shin-ah catches me just in time. I can see the panic on his face, even with the mask on. I see the rest of the group come into view.

'Kija must have freed them'

"Are you ok!?" Yona asks in worry.

"Does she look ok!?" Hak retorts.

"I'm fine" I say, slowly losing consciousness. Shin-ah tightens his grip on me.

"No you're not, let me see the wound" I faintly hear Yoon say, before I completely lose consciousness.

'Why am I the one who always gets hurt?'

Y/N POV

"It's a port town!" I hear someone exclaim, as I slowly wake from my deep slumber.

"Hak! Is that the ocean? I've never seen it before! It's beautiful!" I recognise Yona's voice.

I start to regain the rest of my senses as I groan, shifting slightly. My movement causes me to realise I'm not on the ground, but in somebody's arms. I open my eyes slightly, squinting at the light invading my vision. I realise it is Shin-ah who is holding me... bridal style.

"Where am I?" I question drowsily.

"(Y/N)! You're awake!" Yona shouts happily.

"Keep the volume down will ya" I say groggily.

Shin-ah places me gently on the ground, against a tree for support.

"How are you feeling?" Yona asks.

"Fine" I say, stretching out my body.

"How are you moving so freely? Are you not in pain?" Yoon questions.

"Huh? Oh, I guess not. Wait... how long was I out?" I ask.

"A couple of days" Hak answers.

"Well that explains it then" I say, rising to my feet with no problem. Everyone looks at me questioningly. "Oh right, you're probably wondering why I'm completely fine. Perks of being a Wolf Shifter, I have accelerated healing" I state simply.

"And you couldn't tell us this before!?" Hak says angrily.

"Actually I did" I smirk.

"No you didn't!" He retorts.

"If I remember correctly, Yona asked if I was ok when I was bleeding out. I told her I was fine, meaning I did tell you" I smile mischievously.

"That's not the same as telling us you have accelerated healing (Y/N)" Kija informs.

"It's not?" I question innocently. Everyone just sighs at me. "What?"

"Never mind" Kija says.

I just shrug my shoulders, turning to Shin-ah. Before I can say anything, he engulfs me in a hug. I stood there in shock for a few seconds, before I finally snapped out of it and hug back.

"You know he wouldn't let you go the whole way here" Yona says with a small smirk.

"Really?" I question.

"Yup" Hak replies.

We separated and I can see a small blush beneath his mask. I smile at this, before standing on my toes and moving his mask slightly, placing a small kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you" I say quietly, with a blush of my own. He smiles and places a hand affectionately on my head.

"Awwww~" the group chorus.

"S-Shut up!" I say with a small pout. They just smirk at my shyness.

(Small time skip brought to you by (Y/N) and Yona moments)

"Kija, do you think the Green Dragon is here?" Yona asks.

"Well... I sense his presence, but it's like he's all over the place. Urg tracking him is making me queasy" Kija replies, swaying slightly.

"It seems like Dragon abilities have their limits. Once Kija hits his, he wears out quickly" Yoon informs, giving the two Dragons a look that says he wants to experiment.

I give him a small glare, standing protectively in front of Shin-ah.

'Back off Pretty Boy' he just smirks knowingly.

"Well I'd like to find the Green Dragon, but I'm tired from the trip here. This'd be a good time to stock up on food and provisions" Yoon says thoughtfully.

"Okay! Let's head into town!" Yona exclaims happily, with Kija, Shin-ah and I looking excited next to her. I even allow my tail to sway, expressing my delight.

"Not happening! I'm not taking you guys!" He shouts.

"Why~" I whine with puppy dog eyes.

"One, Yona is a crimson haired princess. Two, Kija has an abnormal hand. Three, you have wolf ears and a tail. Four, Shin-ah just looks plain suspicious!" he states.

His statement causes my ears to flop down sadly, and Shin-ah crouches down in sadness with Kija patting his back.

"Then I'll go" Hak states.

"Thunder Beast?" Yoon questions.

"I wanna check out some weapons too. I kind of remember my way around town" he replies.

"Hak! I want to go too" Yona states.

"You're not looking so great lately, Your Highness" Hak says, shocking Yona. "Bags under your eyes, hands all scratched up. You've been overdoing it" he says, patting her head. "Take some time to rest instead".

"I don't know what you're talking about" she says, looking down.

"AWWW~" I exclaim loudly. "That's so cute~" I say, completely destroying the mood. They both blush at my comment and look away. I just giggle.

"Be really careful, okay?" Yona says.

"Someone might recognise you, Thunder Beast. Try not to make a scene" Yoon says.

"You guys should hide too. This'll stand out, so I'll leave it here" He gestures to his weapon. "And White Snake..."

"You don't need to tell us! We will protect her highness" he says, pulling Shin-ah and I towards him.

"Hak... come right back" Yona says to him.

With that, he walks towards the port, leaving us behind him.
