Chapter 55

Previously on The Wolf Shifter's Love:

"Or am I?" She chuckles. "All the evidence is right infront if you. You're so caught up in this facade that you don't even realise it".

And then she's gone, leaving me alone on the boat with her words.

'Don't listen to her, she's trying to get in your head to make killing you easier'

'I know, but what she said...'

'Is wrong and not in the slightest bit true. You are your own person and your feelings are yours and yours alone'

'You're right' I say, but not entirely convinced.

'I know I am. Now let's join that party and forget about this idea. We can inform everyone of this encounter after, let them enjoy this victory first'

'Okay'

I take a few deep breaths and head off to the celebration, masking my true feelings on the situation.

Y/N POV

When I reach the area where everyone is gathered I notice the party already in full swing. I smile slightly as Vita's wolf form chases a group of women away from a dazed Kija. I see Yoon treating a wound on Jae-ha's shoulder with a scowl, while Jae-ha casually flirts with some women. Hak is sat with a man, they both have strong scented drinks in their hands while giving each other challenging grins. Yona is dancing with some girls we saved from the boat, a wide smile lights up her face. My eyes finally land on Shin-ah, and they soften immediately at the sight. He's sat with a small group of children who talk animatedly to him, while looking in wonder at the little squirrel on his shoulder.

"(Y/N)!" I hear Yona call out to me.

"Yes?" I tilt my head in question.

"Come dance with us" she smiles widely.

My ears pin back and my nose curls in distaste.

"Hell no!" I decline.

"Come on (Y/N), loosen up a little. Here, drink this" Hak smirks, handing me an unknown substance.

"What is this?" I ask suspiciously.

"Juice" he's says it like it's obvious.

I look at the liquid suspiciously before taking a sip.

'It tastes fine, but why does it leave a burning sensation in the back of my throat?'

I shrug and down the rest with ease. Hak stares at me with wide eyes.

"What?"

"Er Nothing. Just surprised you downed it".

"Why?" I ask curiously.

"No reason" his smirk returns.

"Okay~" I say, before walking off.

3RD PERSON POV

Jae-ha strolls over to Hak with a grin after witnessing the exchange between him and the Shifter.

"You gave her alcohol, didn't you?" He gives the bodyguard a knowing look.

"Yeah, I didn't expect her to drink it all in one go though" he stares after the Shifter with a raised eyebrow.

"I think this may be her first experience with it. She probably doesn't know what it is and it's effects".

"Well then, this should be entertaining".

They both chuckle mischievously, before separating to do their own thing.

By now the party is in full swing and a certain Shifter is starting to feel the effects of her 'juice'.

"Hey (Y/N), are you okay?" Yona asks while sitting next to the wolf.

She stares at the young princess for a solid minute, before a wide smile spreads across her face. Yona looks at her in astonishment. (Y/N) just smiled openly and for no particular reason.

"YONA!" (Y/N) exclaims loudly, while throwing her arms in the air.

The crimson haired female stares in utter confusion.

'Why is she acting like this?' She questioned herself.

"Something wrong, Princess?" Hak joins the two, an innocent look plastered on his face.

"(Y/N) isn't acting like her usual self" she informs.

"Oh?" He says, faking innocence.

"YAK!" The Shifter grins.

"What?" Her companions look at her in confusion.

At this point, Vita has joined with a pretty much out of it Kija leaning against him, his head laying on the white wolf's shoulder. Jae-ha joins too, wanting to see the show that will surly occur.

"Yak! My ship!" She points at the Princess and bodyguard.

Vita struggles to contain his laughter.

"Is she drunk?" He asks.

"Hak gave her a drink and she downed it, not knowing it was alcoholic" Jae-ha informs.

"Oh dear" he chuckles.

"You guys need to kiss" (Y/N) says seriously to the two.

"What?! Why?!" Yona shouts, her face completely red.

"Because you're in love with each other, duh" she roles her eyes.

They both look at her and then each other. Blushes adorn their cheeks before they turn away from each other in embarrassment. (Y/N) grins at the action.

"Give the people what they want!" She giggles.

"Who's the people?" Vita asks.

She smirks at him, but doesn't answer as her attention is snatched by the approach of Shin-ah.

"Shin-ah!" She squeals as he sits next to her.

She wraps her arms around him in a hug with a delighted smile on her face. He returns the affection with a smile of his own. He looks at his two blushing friends questioningly, but decides to ignore it. Kija's light snores gain everyone's attention as he snuggles into Vita's neck, the white wolf smiles at the action.

"I should get him to bed" Vita says as he moves to get up.

He gently and effortlessly lifts Kija into his arms bridle style and walks away. (Y/N) smirks at their retreating silhouette before a yawn makes its way past her lips.

"Your turn" Shin-ah smiles.

"Nooo~" she whines, but makes no move to stop him as he picks her up just as Vita had with Kija.

(Y/N) slowly drifts off into a peaceful slumber within the arms of her beloved mate. Shin-ah smiles down at his adorable mate as he makes his way to where they will be sleeping. Soon the rest of the party members follow and take a long and well deserved rest.
