Chapter 13

~Chapter 13~

~Katniss POV~

There is a jet black limo waiting for Effie and I once we reach the parking lot. We climb into the limo and I am shocked when I see Johanna sitting in it with what looks to be a glass of wine in her hand.

"Hey Katniss! Hi Effie! Let's get this show on the road!" She says excitedly.

Effie and I climb into the limo and we begin to make our way to downtown. We end up getting dropped off downtown and we start to hunt for some nice boutiques to shop at. Once we find one, Effie starts to take over. She picks out outfits, shoes and jewelry for me to try on.

After we are all holding so many bags that we couldn't possibly carry anymore, we decide to go get some lunch. Effie takes us to her favorite restaurant. I'm not shocked that it turns out to be one of those gourmet restaurants where they give you a very small portion of weird food for a large price.

After a not so filling lunch, I tell Effie that I'm super tired and really just want to go back to the hotel. We call the limo back and it takes us to the hotel. I say goodbye to Johanna and tell Effie how much I appreciated the shopping spree. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Then I go up to my room and take the best nap that I've taken in a while.

~Peeta POV~

After lots of searching we finally find a jewelry store that looks worth out time. Me and Haymitch walk in and we are immediately bombed with questions from the sales person.

"Welcome to Capitol Jewels. What brings you here today? Can I help you?" Asks the woman.

"Um I'm looking for an engagement ring actually. Do you guys have those?" I ask tentatively.

"Why of course we have them!" Chirps the woman in her Capitol accent that resembles Effie's perfectly, "What is your budget?"

I look at Haymitch and chuckle. Being a victor has its advantages. I have more money than I ever could use. "No budget. I'm just looking for the perfect ring," I eventually answer.

She leads me and Haymitch around and he gets distracted by looking at their over priced watches. Immediately, one ring catches my eye. The band of the ring is thin and is simple. It is the color of a shimmery gold that almost looks reddish. On the top is a big silver diamond which is surrounded by small red rubies. It's perfect for my Girl on Fire.
