Twenty Four

It had been about a month and it was nearly time for Demi and Nick to go back to school. They were all nervous about it because they had started to notice Demi was showing which would be normal since there was two babies. They didn't want the hassle they knew they were going to get at school but they didn't have much of a choice at the moment. It was also a big day for Joe, he had an interview today determine whether he was going to be going back to college or staying here with his growing family. His parents had no idea about it, e was going to wait until he knew whether he had the job or not. It wouldn't pay much towards the two babies but it was something for now.

"Nervous?" Demi questioned as Joe sat down at the table and he nodded his head gently.

"You?"

"Yeah but probably not as much as you are." Demi giggled smiling as he held her hand under the table.

"I just want this job so I can stick around here with you and the babies, I'd hate to miss any of the pregnancy, I've already been finding it amazing to watch our little ones grow." Joe answered and Demi smiled leaning over pecking his lips gently and Joe smiled.

"People have to eat in here, you know." Nick stated as he walked in and Demi giggled as Joe rolled his eyes at him.

"You're only upset because you and Selena didn't work out."

"It's hard for anything to work out when you're pretending to date a girl so my brother doesn't get sent to prison." Nick answered as he poured himself some cereal.

"Are you getting bitter about it?" Joe questioned and Nick shook his head gently.

"I just feel for you Joe," Nick stated as he sat down opposite them. "You can't enjoy this like you should be, how do you do it?" Joe shrugged his shoulders gently.

"I don't have much of a choice," Joe replied. "But we'll figure something out when I know whether I've got this job or not."

"We just don't know what." Demi added.

"Don't know what?" Denise questioned as she came into the room with some vegetables from the little garden they had.

"It doesn't matter." Nick stated.

"Just focus on your first day of school! You're last years for both of you." Denise praised,

"Yeah then we can be done." Nick mumbled making them laugh.

"I'll be having two babies before then!" Demi exclaimed.

"I've already had words with the principle, I told him that you have started living with us and that you found out you were pregnant with twins." Denise stated as she drove the two teenagers to school that day. Joe had already left for his interview managed to sneak away before Denise could see what he was dressed up for.

"Thank you, I'm just not looking forward to everyone knowing. I can cover up just enough now but I wouldn't be surprised if people had already heard the news." Demi stated.

"If you have any problems then you just go talk to a teacher." Denise urged and Demi nodded her head.

"We haven't really seen our friends much this summer, have we?" Nick questioned and Demi shook her head.

"I guess we've been busy with the babies then they've been busy too. I think we've been the only ones who haven't been on vacation." Demi stated.

"It's been hard for us to afford it with Joe going to college this year but I'm sure we'll get the opportunity next year." Denise replied.

"We'll have two babies here by then mom, to think about," Nick chuckled. "You and dad should get away. We'll be fine."

"It's hard for us to get away knowing Joe will be home by then and that the two babies will be here," Denise grinned slightly making them laugh as they pulled up outside the school. "Have a good day, see you later on."

"Bye mom," Nick stated leaning over kissing her on the cheek before he got out and Demi said goodbye as she did the same. Nick joined Demi at the front of the car and they begun to head up to school together. "I come up with an idea."

"About what?"

"Us, we could just say that we decided to break up but still raise the babies together." Nick spoke in a hushed tone so nobody would hear him and Demi nodded her head gently.

"Sounds like a good idea to me." Demi replied as they entered the school. She was sure all attention turned to them.

She saw people whispering whilst staring at her. It was clear they all knew about the babies already.
