Chapter 56

Jacks POV

    I look at Daniels almost lifeless looking body as he sleeps. He has a grin on his face finally, after all the months of pain and heartbreak. I think this whole situation has had a huge impact on him. I am happy that he's happy. 

" Daniel, if you're awake... I just wanted to tell you that you've done it, I think you have finally gotten Bethany back."

I whisper, trying not to disturb his sleep.

He rotates over to his right side, facing the window; away from me.

I look at his hand and I can see the blood bleeding through the wrap. I hear a creek come from behind me and I see Logan standing in the door way leaning against the frame.

Logan: Hey I heard that Daniel and Bethany were in the hospital so I came as fast as I could.

Jack: Yeah... 

Logan: What happened?

Jack: Daniel is still in love with Beth... so I told him to go to where she was shooting her new movie, and he asked me to join him. It was the least I could do regarding what happened between Bethany and me.

Logan: So the studio caught on fire? 

Jack: Basically.

Logan: Dang bro. 

Logan walks towards Daniel and me and looks at him sleeping.

Jack: I know Daniel... and he is going to blame this whole thing on himself.

Logan: You're probably right. But its not. Everything happens for a reason.

We remain in silence for a few seconds.

Logan: I am going to check on Beth.

He turns around and Bethany is standing in the hall.

Bethany: I am okay.

I rush to her and give her a huge bear hug.

Jack: Bethany, you need to go lay down.

Beth: I'm fine Jack.

She silently giggles.

Logan: You know if it weren't for Daniel you probably would be dead... Or at least closer to death than you are.

Bethany: I know... I can't even put into words how thankful I am for him, and how surprised I was to see him.

Jack: He loves you. 

I pause.

Jack: Bethany he is crazy about you. 

She looks down and smiles and than looks up revealing the dimples on her cheeks.

Bethany: My nurse would freak out if she saw me up... so I better go. 

She begins to walk off then stops, looks at me and says.

Bethany: Jack... I love him too.

I smile and nod to her and then look into Daniels room, to see him sitting up and looking at Logan and me.
