Sans couldn't say anything to his brother while they made their way to Alphys's lab. What could he say? Papyrus would just assume that everything he was saying was a lie. But honestly, truthfully, he had no idea what was happening either. But that voice... Who was it exactly? He had already asked Flowey, who was very hesitant to answer him, and Sans knew Flowey wasn't going to tell anything to him. Besides, Sans wasn't sure if the pink flower from his night terrors and the voice were from the same source anyway.

Sans came up to the conclusion that this had to be a monster of some sort. Only monsters and humans existed in this world, and humans didn't possess any extraordinary powers aside from their SOUL powers. Monsters, however, can possess different types of power. But, of course, are never stronger than the power of humans. Undyne could summon spears out of nowhere, as Sans can do with bones, and Toriel and Asgore both possess fire powers. The powers monsters have are determined by the kind of monster they are.

This power had to be possessed by some sort of monster. And maybe... Asgore may know a monster like this. Asgore was very friendly with all the monsters, and he knew most of them by name. Sans decided he would go to Asgore about it. And if he did, he would for sure tell Sans.

"Does Lightning Song have anything to do with this?" Papyrus bluntly asked, still looking straight ahead. Sans thought to himself that Papyrus was gripping onto him rather tightly, but he didn't say anything.

Sans coughed and shrugged, a ting of pain still clinging to his SOUL. "Don't blame all of this on her," he grumbled, barely having the power to open his eyes. It was like everything he had was drained from him.

Papyrus sighed, making out the outline of Alphys's lab from afar. "I'm not, I'm not... And I know you trust Lightning Song, and I trust you, so I have no reason to believe Lightning Song is causing you any harm. But don't you find it rather strange? That once she appeared, all this started happening?"

Sans shrugged again. He didn't just believe Lightning Song had to do with it, he knew that she didn't.

"Is there something you're not telling me?" Papyrus was looking down on him now, trying to meet his dull, tired pupils.

Sans breathed. Papyrus couldn't know. For all he knew, the voice was just a part of his imagination. "No," he lied, "no."

And Papyrus let it go. Because as he had said, he really did trust his brother. But it wouldn't stop him from worrying, not at all. Maybe these were the after-effects from traveling between dimensions? No... he would have told him that. Both of them.

"Do you ever... feel somethin' around her?" Sans asked, looking over his brother to see Alphys and Lightning Song following behind them. He knew it was a rather strange question, but he needed to know.

"Like what?"

Sans thought for a moment, trying to put what he felt into words. "Like... He's there. Like maybe Lightning Song is special. Like she might have some sort of connection with him?"

Papyrus scoffed, his grip loosening slightly. "Funny joke, Sans."

"I'm serious." Sans's voice was stern now. What if she's what we need, Papyrus?"

"You think what we need is a breathing being? From a whole other dimension that we don't have any connection to whatsoever? You think that's what he left us?" Papyrus countered back. He didn't appreciate Sans joking about something they've been keeping secret for such a long time.
