Flowey was a lot harsher than anyone else Lightning Song had trained with today. Sure, Undyne yelled a lot, but she didn't yell at Lightning Song when she didn't quite understand something. Lightning Song tried not to be too bothered by it. Even though Flowey seemed to be agitated all the time, Lightning Song could tell something was troubling him. Once the training was nearly over, Flowey apologized to Lightning Song about his behavior and said he was just feeling rather upset lately. Lightning Song told him she wasn't mad at him and that it was okay.

For a flower, Flowey knew a lot about SOULs. But when Lightning Song had asked him about his SOUL, he became very offensive and told her not to worry about it. Lightning Song had wondered why he was so sensitive about his SOUL. Regardless, she didn't push on about it. It was clearly something he didn't want to talk about it.

Lightning Song learned about all the human SOUL traits: Determination, Bravery, Justice, Kindness, Patience, Integrity, and Perseverance. She found out that Frisk's SOUL trait was Determination. She also learned that with human SOULs, there were certain powers that depended on the SOUL trait. Monsters also had powers, but the powers they had didn't depend on their SOUL traits (mostly because monsters didn't possess SOUL traits).

She also found out that monsters were capable of fusing with another human to combine their SOULs. Flowey made it especially clear that both the monster and human had control over their shared body. It was the one thing he wouldn't let Lightning Song forget.

Their training was cut short because Sans had appeared in front of them ten minutes early. His pupils were gone, and his eye sockets were dark and empty. Lightning Song had never seen Sans like this before, and he looked rather unsettling. She didn't even know he could make his pupils disappear. One thing was clear, though, Sans was not happy.

Flowey had given Sans a dirty look, not paying any attention to him at first. "Anyway, Lightning Song-"

"Flowey, training's over," he interrupted, his pupils suddenly coming back to life. There was this edge to his voice, as if he was being extremely cautious about something. Lightning Song wondered what that was. But she knew she shouldn't speak now- far too much tension in the air. "I'll be taking Lightning So-"

"But we still have at least ten minutes." This time, it was Flowey who interrupted Sans. His eyes were narrowed, and he switched his attention towards Sans and Lightning Song every few seconds. He knew he couldn't win this battle, but he didn't appreciate his time getting cut off either way.

Sans huffed and picked up Lightning Song, starting his way back to Toriel's. "Time for dinner, anyway. You comin'?"

"Yeah..." Flowey grumbled something under his breath, starting to hop down the hill. It was rather difficult to keep up with Sans, especially since he wasn't making any effort to wait for the flower.

Sans decided to take his attention away from Flowey completely and flashed a smile towards Lightning Song in his arms. "Did ya have fun today, kid?"

Lightning Song yawned, actually growing quite tired. She nodded, her eyelids closing slowly. "Yeah... I think I learned a lot today." She had started to drift a little before Sans nudged her a little, making her snap open her eyes.

"That's good," Sans said, opening up the door and walking inside. He closed it when Flowey hopped through the door. Flowey immediately took his place by Frisk, who was currently on the floor watching TV. Sans set Lightning Song down and wandered into the kitchen, where Papyrus was cooking dinner.
