Sans had yet another night terror about that pink flower.
He really couldn't understand it. Was he going crazy? Or was this really a nightmare? In Equestria, Princess Luna had the ability to watch over dreams and control the course of them. Was there a creature here who could do the same thing? Was someone controlling his dreams?
This timeline sure was a strange one. First, there was meeting Lightning Song. Now, he was having dreams about a pink flower he has no relation to whatsoever. Sans wasn't particularly worried about Frisk resetting. If they reset, they reset. There was nothing he could do. But perhaps this timeline needed to stay around for a while. It seemed to Sans like there was a lot more going on this time.
So he was going to have to talk to Frisk about keeping this timeline around.
Sans woke up once the pink flower started laughing in a rather horrifying way. He sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes to fully wake up. He wasn't going to be able to fall asleep after that. Sans dragged himself out of bed, glancing at the clock that read "6 AM". He looked over at Papyrus, who was still sleeping soundly on his side of the room. When Papyrus woke up, he was going to be rather shocked to find that Sans was up so early. Hell, Sans was shocked himself.
He sighed quietly, taking his hoodie off of the ground and tying it around his waist. Toriel and Frisk were awake getting ready for school at this time, perhaps he could wish them off today. Sans cautiously opened the door and closed it behind him carefully, trying not to make too much noise.
Sans really needed to sort out his problems before they really became a big deal. He needed to show everyone to Lightning Song, to explain why he was acting strange. He needed to figure out exactly who that pink flower was and what it had to do with him. Sans figured that when he got on the surface, all his worries would disappear. But instead, he had even more to worry about than before.
Sans found Frisk and Toriel in the kitchen. Frisk was busy enjoying a bowl of cereal while Toriel shuffled through some papers on the table. Both of them gave Sans a rather shocked look once he walked into the kitchen.
"Bad dream?" Toriel asked, returning her attention to the papers and organizing them into a folder.
Sans shrugged, sitting next to Frisk and ruffling their hair, which they returned with a smile. "You could say that," he answered, his voice drained and tired. He stood up again, slowly shuffling over to the refrigerator.
Frisk got up as well, putting their empty bowl into the sink. They went into the living room to grab their bookbag and waited for Toriel.
"Frisk and I are going to go now," Toriel announced, placing the folder in her bag and taking Frisk's hand. "You have a good day, Sans."
"You, too," Sans mumbled, reaching into the fridge to grab a ketchup bottle. If he wasn't going to sleep, might as well enjoy himself. But suddenly, Sans felt a sudden pain in his chest. To be more precise, his SOUL was aching horribly. He coughed, figuring it was just a minor pain that would fade away soon. But it didn't fade away- it became worse. Sans slammed the fridge door shut, attracting Toriel's and Frisk's attention. He gripped his SOUL, breathing heavily as the pain steadily increased.
What was happening? Was this due to his low HP? No... This had never happened before. Sans felt dizzy, like he was becoming less and less in tune with himself. He couldn't breathe. And even if he didn't need to breathe, he was still taking fast, panicked breaths. Frisk and Toriel were looking in his direction, worry filling their eyes. Sans knew they were talking, but he couldn't hear anything but a constant ringing.
