Sans wasn't exactly worried that Lightning Song was going to train with Undyne next. Sure, Undyne had a short fuse and she was hyperactive about nearly everything, but Sans knew she wouldn't try to hurt Lightning Song. He would have said the same for Frisk, but they had already proved their strength. Undyne would be down to fight them again if they offered.

But Undyne was also aware that there was a slight age difference between the two. Frisk was nearing being a teenager while Lightning Song was still four-years-old. Undyne would know to take things slow with Lightning Song.

Sans and Undyne weren't particularly close like her and Papyrus, but they were friends. He was grateful that Undyne gave Papyrus something to do and that she had given him a chance at being part of the Royal Guard. Of course, Sans and Undyne both knew that wasn't going to happen, but neither of them could break the truth to Papyrus. Even after Papyrus stopped training with Undyne, Sans was glad he had another friend to hang out with. Even if she did suggest they "battle to the death" every time they got together.

When Lightning Song and Sans appeared in front of Undyne's house, they didn't hear any fighting in the back. Sans was rather surprised- if Undyne wasn't training she was either with Alphys or Papyrus, and she wasn't with either of the two. Sans looked around and set Lightning Song down.

"Huh. Woulda thought Undyne would be out here to greet us-"

Suddenly, a spear came flying in Sans's direction, and he had barely just dodged it. The spear had managed to snag his hoodie. Sans groaned, his fingers going to drag over the tear in his jacket. "Damn... I'll have Tori sew this back up." Sans looked up from his hoodie and finally spotted Undyne laughing a few feet away from him.

"Ha!" she hollered, her voice bouncing off of her fish-shaped house. "You should have seen your face!"

Sans rolled his pupils, looking back to see where the spear had landed. It had already disappeared. "Really, Undyne? That coulda killed me-"

Undyne rolled her eyes this time, waving Sans's statement off. "Yeah, yeah. I know. The one HP thing. I knew you would dodge it," she cut him off, giving a wide smile once she saw Lightning Song. "And if it isn't the pony of the hour?" Undyne bent down to Lightning Song's height and held a fist out to her.

Lightning Song hesitated before realizing what Undyne was doing. She slowly lifted her hoof and bumped it against Undyne's fist. She smiled up at her.

Undyne laughed. "You got it!" she reassured, ruffling up Lightning Song's mane before standing back up. "Ya ready to learn from the best?"

Lightning Song's smile grew wider as she nodded.

"I thought you claimed Papyrus was the best?" Sans interrupted the two, snickering to himself. He had a knack for getting under people's skin.

Undyne sighed. "Well, then that means I'm second best, Sans," she plainly stated, giving Sans a dull look.

Sans laughed. "Alright, I'll give you an hour, Undyne. I'll be back to pick her up." And just before he was about to disappear, Undyne grabbed his shoulder and led him away from Lightning Song. Sans gave her a strange look before she spoke up.

"Actually, uh... Could I talk to you for a moment?" she asked, looking back at Lightning Song. She was trying to chase down a butterfly.
