I was just setting down Attina's shirt when I heard a gasp come from the doorway. Turning, I found something much more important than planting evidence.
I found my jewel.
I found my sun, my earth, my entire universe.
I found Ariel.
The air escaped my lungs as I gazed upon her.
Her hair was as red as a ruby, her eyes as clear as glass. Her skin looked so soft that in comparison, rose petals would feel rough. She looked shocked, but that only made her beauty tenfold.
"Who are you?" She demanded in such a powerful, silky voice. "What are you doing in here?"
"Ariel..." I murmured, tasting how the name felt upon my tongue now that I had finally met her.
"Excuse me? You'll have to speak up sir." She looked at me, and I could feel electric in my veins.
"Ariel, my lady..." I said, trying to explain to her just who she was.
"Oh... Is that someone you've lost? Forgive me for saying, you're very well dressed for being homeless." She smiled at me.
Looking back... well, I can't say I'd change anything there.
